Liked: Friendly owners, lovely spacious quiet site in beautiful surroundings. Birdsong evening and morning was breathtaking. My son enjoyed time with the goats. We chanced on the nearby Wellesborough airport which is an absolute gem. Avro Vulcan parked up, great little museum and a total bargain, friendly cafe. Definitely a site to save in favourites.

Liked: This was just what we were looking for to have a break for the night. It was wonderfully quiet here. Little around except some baby Goats, a Pony and some Chickens but the lack of distraction was bliss. My son never wanted to leave, went over and said Hi to the Goats dozens of times. There's also an airfield within a 5 min walk with a great condition Vulcan and a cafe where you can get a good breakfast. If you're looking for a little peace and quiet, great sunset and to just get away from it all. I can highly recommend.

From the manager: Thanks Jason for the lovely review- so glad you enjoyed it. Vicky
Large, quiet farm site, good facilities. Muddy, bit of a walk to car.

Primitive grass tent campsite
Liked: Very large and spacious field that never felt crowded or noisy, plenty of room for the children to play. Easy to find a dry and level space to pitch. No dogs allowed on site and we didn't see or hear a thing from the owners' dogs. Hot, powerful showers and the facilities were as clean as they could be for a muddy site. The children loved playing with the goats and we enjoyed the fresh eggs from the chickens. Very friendly and helpful owners. The airfield café is a short walk away and great to watch the small aircraft taking off and landing. It's a busy airfield so lots of air traffic for plane spotters. National Trust properties at Charlecote and Upton worth a visit. Sainsbury's a few minutes drive away.
Disliked: The field gets quite wet and muddy especially at the entrance, and so you can't drive your car up to load/unload. Bring wellies! Perhaps in the future a road or gravel track up the middle of the field would be helpful for loading and walking to the facilities. We weren't told that the showers are 50p coin per 5 minutes. I haven't come across paid showers for a good few years, but they were hot and powerful which is the main thing. The only washing up sink is in the ladies toilets, but we managed by collecting hot water from the toilet blocks and washing up at the tent.

From the manager: Thank you! Lovely and useful feedback. We are going to address the washing up situation and have now added the requirement for 50p’s for showers onto Pitchup. It was a muddy weekend and hopefully we will improve the grass coverage at the base of the field where it’s wettest! Hopefully see you again soon! Vicky and James

Liked: Lovely basic campsite. Newly opened. Very warm welcome from the site owner Vicky, despite the rain! This was the first weekend the site was open and Vicky couldn't do enough to help out and make us feel welcome. We were staying with our 2 young children. When asked what they enjoyed the most, the children said "collecting eggs from the chicken coop and stroking the goats in their enclosure. Plenty of space for the kids to play safely.

Liked: Lovely friendly owners, a huge flat field where you can choose your own pitch and clean toilets - everything we need in a campsite! My children loved the goats, chickens and hay bales that they were climbing up and jumping off. Lovely location in the Warwickshire countryside within easy driving distance of lots of local attractions and only a 5 minute walk to Touchdown Café at Wellesbourne airfield for a fry up, which was really handy as we were only staying one night on our way somewhere else, so hadn't brought any food or cooking equipment. We hope to come back in the summer and hopefully not bring torrential rain with us!
Disliked: Not a dislike, but some signage for rubbish and recycling/drinking water etc would be good. It's also easy to miss the entrance when you come down the road, so a clearer sign outside would make it easier to find (Google Maps did send me to the right place, but I didn't see the sign on the gate a drove straight past and had to turn round).
