  • Adults-only site surrounded by Worcestershire countryside
  • Droitwich Spa 20 minutes’ drive; Worcester 25 minutes
  • Well-behaved dogs welcome; just over a mile from the nearest pub
Located halfway between Worcester and Redditch (25 minutes’ drive to either), Church Meadow Campsite is a small, peaceful site surrounded by arable fields and splendid Worcestershire countryside. ‘Peaceful’ is very much the operative word here – not only because this rural spot is blissfully quiet, with just a soundtrack of wildlife and the occasional neigh from the horses that live nearby, but also because Church Meadow caters exclusively to adults. (Though well-behaved dogs are also welcome.) Well-maintained facilities on site include toilets and showers. The site is in the sleepy village of Dormston, which is home to a pretty, historic church. A carp fishing lake and a traditional pub serving food (including a full English breakfast) are both just over a mile away (a five-minute drive or a 25-minute walk), while other amenities, including spots to pick up groceries, are on hand in nearby Inkberrow (five minutes). This part of the country isn’t short on stunning scenery, whether you fancy jaunts to National Trust properties like Hanbury Hall (15 minutes), the historic town of Droitwich Spa (20 minutes) or heritage villages like Broadway (30 minutes), at the northern end of the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Church Meadow is also easy to reach, being just a few miles from the M5.

Primitive grass tent, campervan or trailer tent campsite

Liked: Was contacted straight away by Ben to confirm booking by text and some additional campsite info. On arrival the campsite gate is padlocked which gives an added extra layer of security for campers rung Ben for code for entry. The campsite is very nice and peacefully situated in the countryside. Friendly environment friendly staff. Met Bens father very all round sound guy interesting to talk with and his pet Hen she wasn’t shy lols. Facilities and campsite are well looked after and maintained proper toilet and shower. All in all I enjoyed my stay and would stay here again and recommend this campsite to anyone else.

Power optional cement/asphalt and grass campsite

Liked: Nice well spaced gravel pitches with EHU. Lovely quiet peaceful location. 20 min walk to nearest pub(s) safe walking route.

Disliked: Site very shabby cosmetically, uneven paving to toilet and shower facilities which although clean need a complete face-lift. Poor lighting at night. Everywhere a little bit run down.

Local attractions

At the White Cottage Garden (five minutes’ drive) every season bring a riot of colour – from spring daffodils and summer peonies, to autumn dahlias and red maple trees. Morton Hall Gardens (10 minutes) include an orchard and a rockery; the grounds are also known for their expansive views over the Vale of Evesham. The pretty historic town of Droitwich Spa (20 minutes) has an open-air lido for summer swims, plus boat trips along the Birmingham Worcester Canal. The Heritage Trail walk starts from the Droitwich Heritage & Information Centre, which houses a museum on the town’s brine streams and salt production. Facing the River Severn, the medieval cathedral in Worcester has a spectacular Gothic vaulted ceiling. Not far from here, the Museum of Royal Worcester illustrates the history of the renowned local porcelain, while paintings (including a Canaletto) and displays about the Worcestershire Regiment fill the Worcester City Art Gallery and Museum.
