  • Tranquil, wild camping meadow in rural Suffolk with beautiful views
  • Well located for the cute villages of Lavenham, Kersey, and Hadleigh
  • Spacious grass pitches surrounded by wildlife, close to pubs and shops
Do you like the sound of a peaceful meadow shaded by trees, or spectacular views over open farmland? And how about the chance to spot regular visitors like hares, rabbits, deer and barn owls? A stay at Wallow Barn Wild Camping offers all this as well as myriad birds providing a daily background of song and chatter. This really is back-to-basics, wild camping with no facilities in the meadow. Guests will need to bring their own water supply, lighting, cooking gear and loo facilities, but there’s plenty of space on the few large pitches, so you will have the peaceful field pretty much to yourselves. The owners live on site and have logs and kindling available to buy, as well as locally sourced milk, bread, eggs, biscuits, cakes and conserves. They’re also more than happy to help with information and anything else that you might need – please feel free to ask them. If walking is your thing, there are many local footpaths and byways nearby, so you can head off with an Ordnance Survey map in hand and stroll for miles through the open countryside. There’s a pretty riverside walk in Hadleigh (15 minutes’ drive), where you can also source groceries and other tasty treats at supermarkets, farm shops and delis. You won’t go short on eating choices either, as the area offers masses of pubs serving good food in cosy bars and beer gardens.
