Powered grass tent, campervan or trailer tent campsite
Liked: Facilities were clean and well maintained. Extras such as proper coffee in the morning and pizza oven for fresh cooked pizza were amazing and handy on a late afternoon setting up with little ones. Location - being within walking distance of bolton abbey and a cute little farm was perfect for us as a family.
Disliked: Location of allocated pitch. With two little ones (3 and 5) having our pitch at the edge of the road into and out of the field was less than ideal and not one I would pick for my family as it was hard to relax and let the kids run around freely when you knew a car could come past to set up or leave at the peak times we would be around the tent. Would have preferred one of the allocated pitches nearer to the facilities where there was more playing space and less cars passing by.

Liked: Location was amazing. Pizzas were fab. So were the firepits! Being able to create a space with friends was also amazing. Kids loved exploring the stream too. Listening to the owls at night was also brilliant. Not to mention the local peacock!

Liked: Lovely campsite, staff very friendly. Very close to Bolton Abbey.
Disliked: Our pitch was on a slope which made it quite uncomfortable as we were in a small tent.

Liked: Excellent pitch close to amenities. Well stocked shop. Pop up bar was a welcomed surprise. Clean facilities and the use of the communal fridge/freezer was useful. 10 min walk into Bolton Abbey.
Disliked: If you want access to WiFi it isn't available on the camping field

Liked: The area and scenery was beautiful.
Disliked: I don't know if its because the site is in a valley, but noise REALLY carries, you hear EVERYTHING from neighbouring pitches. Was really disappointed as we expected peace & tranquility as advertised, and instead got building work and lawnmowers. It's expensive for what is is also. We left a day and a half earlier than planned as the builders noise was stressful and we hadn't slept well due to noisy neighbours. I appreciate that this site is a working farm, but I feel building work could have been done in the closed season or at the very least, explained to us on booking in that this was going to happen, this could have given us an opportunity to choose a pitch further away. As it was, the digger was right behind our tent and the lawnmower worked around our tent. As we were the only camper left in that area, we felt like we were in the way! We were observed whilst packing up the tent, but at no point did someone ask why we were leaving early. Will not return.

Liked: We arrived and shown where we could pitch and told site information. We unpacked car, pitched up and put car in car park. The site and views were amazing. A 15 minute walk to Bolton Abbey and we spent the day there and in the evening got a pizza from Cats Kitchen which was delicious. The toilets were perfect and clean, washing area also had microwave and kettle in there. We will definitely be going back.
Disliked: Nothing to dislike
