Liked: Felt peaceful and secluded as busy despite full pitches. sheep in adjacent field were nice. very close to the A road good for travelling places but didn’t feel close at all. Basic facilities were enough. Pitches were flat and grass mowed.

Liked: Absolutely great little site, perfect for a first 'semi-wild' camp. Football field with minimal pitches (I think maybe 8 in total), well-spaced out so no immediate neighbours. Overlooking field of sheep, with gorgeous walks on the doorstep up along the river Breamish. Very basic amenities = 2 spotless portaloos, couple of bins and a tap. Friendly welcome from considerate owners. Can't fault this spot if you like peace and quiet and aren't looking for an all-mod-cons and entertainment on-tap. No noise after about 8pm. Bonus incredible views of stars and almost full moon made for a perfect stay. Also dog friendly - the field itself is great for them to run around freely as the pitches are all around the outside, but note that there is livestock around so they need to be on-lead for parts of the nearby walks.
Disliked: Nothing

Liked: Very helpful owner. Harry came and made sure we had all the things we needed and was very prompt in bringing us extra wood when we ran out. This was his first year so we were the guineapigs. The site was easy to access and quiet. Not many other campers and well spaced pitches. Lovely walks and birdlife on the nearby lakes . We saw buzzards, herons, swallows and many geese, plus a few rarer specimens. Also sheep everywhere! There was a very well stocked shop just a short walk away through the woods. Lots of lovely quiet roads. Would be ideal cycling country ( with the occasional hill). It was lovely to be able to bring our dog and also have a fire every day.
Disliked: Occasional slight noise from road but it didn't bother us. The site might be on a different field next year anyway. Water tap and loos need to be next to each other but they will be next year.

Liked: The hosts were incredibly helpful and hospitable and were very friendly. There was a great shop/garage just around the corner in the village that sells a wide variety of local produce and essentials too. The campsite itself is quiet and secluded and well sheltered from the wind. On a clear night the stars really were spectacular with it being so far from any real light pollution too. Watching the swallows catching flies in the early morning across the field was a brilliant little specacle in itself too. Really idea location for getting across Northumberland, into the hills or down to the coast as it's right in the centre. Clean facilities, though obviously only relatively basic, they are all you need for a good camp. Will be returning again when we can.
