Disliked: Could do with hand dryer / paper towels in the bathroom

Liked: Site was fantastic location was ideal for travelling into Keswick etc. the pitches were nice and large and well spaced out, site was just the right size for the amount of pitches so you don’t feel crammed in. Toilets and shower facilities were immaculate. The views were amazing and there was little chickens just wandering around the place which the kids loved. Already looking for availability to go back in July. Possibly the best site we’ve stayed on in the last few years.
Disliked: Nothing.

From the manager: Thank you for your review and feedback. It's a shame to hear you won't be returning, but we appreciate we are not a fit for everyone. For the benefit of other caravan owners, we do clearly identify on our Pitchup web page as part of the pre-booking information, that cars are not to be parked next to the pitch, with a large well-maintained designated parking bay in the main yard, for each pitch. For those caravaners who want to maintain a symbiotic relationship with their car during their stay, it would be best to select an alternative Pitchup site, where you can be in harmony with your vehicle, throughout your stay. Cars are only parked a very short distance away, and we feel if you're coming camping to the Lake District, with miles of walking and all the adventures it offers, walking 10 yards to the car should be a cinch. If you do have any accessibility needs, we do have 5 luxury accessible cottages on site. Not having cars on the pitches does make a significant difference to the camping experience; ensuring we reduce traffic risk to children and others on site; that false alarm activations and shutting doors in the middle of the night doesn't disturb others on-site; and that car radios, people sleeping in cars and car maintenance/preening, does not spoil the beautiful setting and camping experience for everyone. We note you were a mature couple and therefore possibly did not experience the child-friendliness aspects of our site, with our Treehouse play structure, family wilderness firepit, games room with Free Pool and Table tennis, football playing areas, trailer rides and meet the farm animals experience to name a few. With regards to the other areas you scored us on, such as cleanliness and customer service we find it best to let the other reviews, who were staying at the same time, inform our potential campers about the standard we offer. We do have a great mobile phone signal on the site, but we don't offer Wifi, as is stated on our Pitchup pre-booking information. This is not our choice, but due to our remote location, there are no service providers that will provide a viable network that has sufficient bandwidth for multiple users, with our current BT landline offering 0.2 MB download. We continue to push providers for better service. Thanks again for your review and feedback, which will benefit future campers.
