  • Spacious pitches on the Dorset coast, overlooking Chesil Beach
  • A 10-minute drive to central Weymouth; 15 mins to Isle of Portland
  • On-site bar for drinks and food; play area and playing field
You’ll be able to squeeze the maximum amount of sea air out of your Dorset coastal break when you stay at East Fleet Farm Touring Park – this spectacular location is on the shores of the Fleet Lagoon, with views over Chesil Beach to the open sea beyond. Having sea views from the site means that you may be tempted to hang around on your pitch, put your feet up and simply take in the scenery for much of your break. And that’s not a bad idea at all – pitches are generously sized, with access to a play area and playing field for kids that may need a bit more activity. The well-stocked shop has various camping/caravan accessories and consumables, and it’s also the place to pick up a newspaper and an ice cream to take back to your camping chair. For more substantial eats, head to the on-site bar, which has an extensive food menu as well as a range of local drinks. It really is worth making the effort to get out and about locally though: there are some stunning walks on the South West Coast Path (which passes next to the site) and plenty of places to go for a bike ride. Weymouth and Dorchester are easily accessed too, as are the watersports of Portland and attractions such as Abbotsbury Swannery.

Liked: The whole site was lovely. Plenty of lovely dog walks. The whole team was so helpful especially. Joe nothing was too much trouble for him. Helped us with our enquiries. Spoke to us every time he saw us. Having been a manager myself I know how stressed you can become, but he certainly didn’t show it and always had a smile . We loved it so much that we stayed another day and night and booked again for July. The facilities were absolutely spotless, good shop with a huge variety of items. Food in the restaurant was very nice and one of the waiters was even cleaning the chairs. He worked so hard, always finding something to do. Didn’t catch his name but he was a middle aged guy with black glasses.

Disliked: The only thing that we were a bit sad about was that the pub didn’t open before five o’clock . So no lunch time drinks.

Primitive grass campsite

Liked: Lovely clean site with a great shower and toilet block and washing up area very helpful and friendly staff, one of the staff offered to help put my tent up as I was on my own,

Disliked: On the site website it says it has a charging facility, I was told it did have one in the shop but not anymore, Which left me with a flat battery on the phone, I did try to charge in my car but this didn't work very well

Powered gravel travel trailer campsite

Liked: Facilities were excellent, Shower, toilet and washbasin all in one unit was very accommodating, and always kept very clean. Site was pretty flat, so not difficult to level the caravan, plenty of water points around the site, and disposal points easy access and clean.

Disliked: Access to site is a narrow lane, some of the speed bumps in very inconvenient positions when towing caravan up hill, not always easy for vehicles opposing directions.

Liked: Very friendly staff, happy to help. It was a very windy day and we went out fir the day but when we came back our Horning had blown off but the staff had very kindly taken all our items that were in the Horning and stored them for us so that they would stay dry and not blow away. It was very thoughtful and we were very grateful

Disliked: Was windy!

Local attractions

Can’t keep your eyes off the sea views? Pick up the South West Coast Path at the bottom end of the park, or head for favourite spots along the Jurassic Coast like West Bay (half an hour’s drive) and Lulworth Cove (35 minutes). The Isle of Portland (15 minutes) is also a great place for a walk, and it’s also got lots of watersports including windsurfing, coasteering and scuba diving. Weymouth (10 minutes) is another perennial favourite for its lovely sandy beach and attractions like the Sea Life Centre and Pirate Adventure Golf. You can also get to the town on two wheels by picking up the Weymouth Trail cycle route from the bridleway by the site (or follow the full nine-mile trail up into the hills…) Other options for days out nearby include Abbotsbury Swannery and Subtropical Gardens (15 minutes), Vurlands Animal Farm (20 minutes) or an arty afternoon at Sculpture By The Lakes (half an hour).
