Camping pod (bunk beds, no pets)
Liked: Brilliant camp site in remote location in Golloway Forest Park. Fishing, kayaking, mountain bike hire, all available to book on site at reasonable prices. Accommodation( camping pod) clean and perfect for our needs. Fridge, microwave, toaster and kettle available, but if you want to use them you have to top up your prepaid electric meter (takes £1 or £2 coins) Toilet and shower block well maintained and kept clean throughout the day.
Disliked: Site hosts/operators not on site all day but can be reached on mobile phone if you lucky enough to have signal.

Liked: Just back from a fantastic weekend at Hensol estate. Beautiful setting with relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Amazing to watch the Red kites flying over our tent and hear the owls at night while we sat around our fire. Lovely loch near by to swim and paddleboard. Definitely be back.

Liked: The setting was beautiful and the campsite was wonderfully laid out, roomy pitches for each person. The estate itself is amazing with its scenic walks to the bird hides and beyond. Lovely calm river and loch to do paddle boarding on or kayaking. The staff were fantastic delivering logs on an evening and being very helpful. We enjoyed the walk up to Loch Stroan and winding walks back down the campsite, would definitely return soon.

Star Gazer camping pod (no pets, six person)
Liked: Absolutely fantastic place, superb stargazing pod - super clean and tidy. Star lights - great touch! Everything so easy to understand and clear. Nice that we were offered some logs for the fire too. The stars and night sky were just perfect. What a small price to pay for such a perfecto night. Thank you!
