  • Well-maintained site just off the A5 in rural Denbighshire
  • A 10-minute drive from Corwen or the edge of Snowdonia National Park
  • Half a mile from a café with hillside views
On the edge of Snowdonia National Park, Ty Cerrig Caravan and Camping is a homely North Wales site with stunning views over the Denbighshire countryside. This is a simple spot with a well-maintained toilet and shower block and generously-sized natural grass pitches. The outlook here is simply spectacular, with gorgeous views overlooking Foel Goch and the Berwyn Mountains. Ty Cerrig Caravan and Camping is located in a quiet location just off the speedy A5 road, meaning you're a mere 10 minutes' drive from the edge of Snowdonia National Park and all the amenities of Corwen town centre. For food, you're two miles down the road from a shop selling local produce and half a mile from a café that serves top-rated hot and cold food. Traditional camp dinners are also in the offing, as Ty Cerrig Caravan and Camping allows guests to set up barbecues in its grounds. Outdoor leisure activities are available in the local area, including go-karting at Glan Y Gors (five minutes) and watersports on the river Tryweryn at the National White Water Centre (15 minutes). The site also has direct access to the attractive Hiraethog Trail.

Primitive grass travel trailer campsite

Liked: The owners of this site are warm, friendly and couldn’t have been more helpful when we arrived, as novices, in our new (to us) camper. They checked up on everyone, helped pitch tents and made sure everyone was ok. Amazing location with stunning views Facilities are basic but clean and just what you need for a camping trip.

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked: What a fab couple of days! We were able to be pitched together (4 tents) and create our own little corner of camping bliss. We packed our own toilet as you just never know when trying new sites (especially when camping with the children) but we needn't have worried! The facilities are kept super clean. The views are beautiful and we even managed a trip to Llandudno as well as meeting baby lambs and listening to the farm animals. Friendly hosts, and a nice little find!

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked: We have just returned from a 2 night stay at Ty Cerrig as a larger family group with children. Most friendliest welcome and spotless facilities. The views are beautiful. We took a recommendation from the owners on a walk to do, and were not dissapointed. Frank the Pug loved the stay too. A lovely weekend creating memories with family. (And much Prosecco) 🥰

From the manager: Thank you so much for a beautiful review, it was a pleasure to have you and all the family with us. Glad you enjoyed your stay, both of us are looking forward to welcoming you all back and Frank and Pug. 🤣🤣 I'm still laughing now at your mum walking to the toilet bless her xx

Primitive grass travel trailer campsite

Liked: Very clean toilets and showers. Beautiful view.

Disliked: Not much level camping area as on a sloping field. Pick you own spot helped but it was hard to not camp near to each other as everyone was picking flat spaces.motor homes will need chocks to level out.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thank you for your review. Yes there is a slope but plenty level pitches. I didn't see anyone park next to you as they were all spread out in a 4 acre field. Just like to point out only 6 pitches during your stay, and lucky really as you to advantage of your privacy and sunbathed all weekend tooless, we do most certainly NOT allow that on our site. In future when writting a review please be truthful.

Liked: Beautiful views, chilled campsite and all the facilities you need for a night away

Disliked: Boggy grass but not the locations fault it’s the British weather! Just make sure you bring wellies and expect to get a little muddy!

From the manager: Thanks for your review. Little disappointed about boggy grass!! We've had a lot of rain and we managed extremely well under circumstances. Don't know where you saw boggy?? Thanks anyway

Local attractions

Here for a calm country break? Look out over heather-covered moorlands, peaceful woodlands and quiet lakes on the Hiraethog Trail, a scenic traffic-free walking route a few minutes' walk from site. Alternatively, take your angling gear down the road to try the waters at the Dragonfly Tea Rooms and Fishery, or head to Llyn Brenig (15 minutes), widely held to be one of the best trout fisheries in this part of the country. It's not all peace and quiet in this part of North Wales, though – you could also live life in the fast lane and go for a spin at Glan Y Gors go-karting (five minutes' drive) or hop from tree to tree at Zip World Fforest (20 minutes). Down the road, the National White Water Centre (15 minutes) has opportunities for high-adrenaline rafting on the river Tryweryn to try out too. For more days out, visit the lakeside town of Bala (20 minutes) and take a steam railway ride, head to Conwy's impressive castle (45 minutes) and go for walks by the beach, or head into the national park and explore Betws-y-Coed (20 minutes), a local shopping hub with bike hire, outdoor outlets and lots of good food options.
