  • Near Paris and within 30 minutes of Disneyland Park and Parc Astérix
  • Easy access to many popular tourist attractions
  • Free wifi, food shop, snack bar and playground
A pretty parkland setting but just 20 minutes' drive from the antics of Mickey, Pluto et al at Disneyland Paris and 30 from mischief at Parc Astérix… grownups and kids alike should be highly amused at the location of Camping Club Le Parc de Paris, near Villevaudé in the Seine-et-Marne. Say Pah to the queues at Disneyland, Parc Astérix and other mammoth attractions in the area by smartly sorting your tickets at the park reception before you leave for your day of fun, all the better to spend yet more time shaking hands with Tintin or getting busy with the likes of Buzz Lightyear and the Pirates of the Caribbean at Disneyland. The friendly team can help arrange other excursions in the area too – because you might, just possibly, seek a serene time for a day or two after you stagger back from the excesses of the Paris theme parks. The site's comfy and modern facilities include a well-equipped playground, a pétanque court and free wifi. There's a snack bar serving local specialities too, and a grocery shop for food and essentials. Local town Villevaudé is a few minutes' drive away. Reach Paris in about an hour and 10 minutes by car, via the A4.

Local attractions

However hard the kids would have you believe, it's not just Disneyland and Parc Astérix around these parts. Camping Club Le Parc de Paris is within day trip distance of some top French châteaux, such as the Château de Champs-sur-Marne, within 20 minutes' drive; the Château de Vaux-le-Vicomte, 50 minutes away; the Château de Blandy-les-Tours, at just under an hour, and the famed and fab UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Palace of Fontainebleau, one of the largest French royal châteaux and within an hour and 20 minutes' drive. The Museum of the Great War in Meaux is an acclaimed attraction about 25 minutes' drive away, in the Château de Péronne near the World War I battlefields of the Somme. Or you could drive for about an hour south-east from the site to the medieval town of Provins, or an hour and 10 minute south to the scenic homes, shops, restaurants and art galleries of artists' village Barbizon, which inspired the likes of Rousseau, Corot and Millet.
