Liked: Only our second pitch ever, and all worked well. Location was good as advertised so bikes going into the town were handy - 25 minute walk otherwise

Disliked: Wifi supplied was poor.

Powered grass campsite

Liked: Location is very quiet and peaceful next to riverside. Good walking paths. Clean toilets and showers. Washing machine and dryer works well. Mainly French families with their kids of all ages staying. Motorhome dirty water and filling up facilities just outside of the complex. Helpful owner. Enjoyed our stay in mid August.

Disliked: Supermarket is 5 miles. On Tuesday they were shut. Swimming pool is small.

Local attractions

Many a walking and cycling path can be found in the surrounding countryside, including the popular route along the Nantes-Brest canal: its total length is 238 kilometres so don't feel too bad if you don't manage to pedal all the way to Brittany. As the name suggests, Camping Le Port Mulon's local town of Nort-sur-Erdre is on the Erdre river, flowing into the Loire in Nantes. More walks are here along the old railway lines, or you could/should get out onto the water in a kayak or canoe. Boat cruises are available along the river if you'd rather drift dreamily past its bankside castles and old manors. And natch you'll go to Nantes. France's sixth biggest city was once the capital of traditional Brittany (many Bretons still consider it such) and is a fably old place with heaps to see such as three centuries of botany at the Jardin des plantes de Nantes; the castle of the Dukes of Brittany and museum, and several museums including the city's history and art museums. Closer to the campsite are the tree-swinging opps of Accrobranche treetop adventure; golf is also available nearby.
