Sheep’s Bit is a small family run glamping site with beautiful bell tents. The tents can be hired as a group or just alone . The cosy tents sleep two adults they have a double bed, log burner, a gas burner with all the utensils to make a cup of tea , there is also use of a bbq with outdoor seating . Dogs are welcome on leads as this is a working farm and the animals are very friendly and love to say hello . We have 3 very friendly goats who love children so don’t be suprised if they come running to great you . There is a toilet and shower on site, also a fridge freezer to store your ice packs for keeping the beers cool. We are situated right at the bottom of mamtor so if it’s a sunrise walk or bike ride we are perfectly placed . The village of edale is 5 minutes walk from the site, here you will find the train station with great links to Manchester and Sheffield. In the village there is two great pubs serving food and two lovely coffee shops . An hours walk over the hill is the bustling village of castleton where there is lots of sight seeing opportunities. Please note- The lane is a single lane farm track which is not suitable for low vehicle’s alternative parking can be arranged and a lift up to site will be available. There are also free roaming animals so no responsibility is taken for cars on site or the lane . This rustic site is a truly get away from it all site, offering peace and quite. We have our lovely ducks and hens so free range eggs are available daily, . We also have a little snack box offering goodies for your day ahead so bring the pennies for our honesty box .

  • The site does not accept breeds/crossbreeds listed in the Dangerous Dogs Act (i.e. Pit Bull Terrier, Japanese Tosa, Dogo Argentino, and Fila Brasileiro).
  • No bachelor/bachelorette parties permitted via Pitchup.com.
  • Twin axle vehicles are not permitted on site.
  • No cars/motorcycles at the site. All cars must be parked in the designated area.
  • Continental touring caravans (caravans built with the passenger door on the right-hand side) are not permitted.
  • At least one of the party members must be aged 21 or over.
  • If making a fire, the fuel, logs and coal have to be purchased on site.
  • Guests are advised to bring a good quality flashlight with them as parts of the park are unlit.
  • Trailers, RV and Class B motorhomes with the passenger door built on the left-hand side are not permitted.
  • No naked flames are allowed inside the hired accommodation units.
  • Please note that the toilet/shower facilities are unisex.
  • No gas barbecues allowed.
  • Swimming in the lake is not allowed.

Route directions

When approaching the car park at edale from Hope the turning is around 200 yards from the car park take the first left down a gravel track then first right where there is a metal farm gate go through the gate follow the track for around 1/4 mile . If coming to edale from barber booth / mamtor side it’s the first right before the car park it’s a sharp turn which is easily missed please ring for assistance if needed the sat takes you passed the entrance to the track so once you get to the car park please follow these directions. If coming from barber booth side when sat nab says you have reached your destination keep going towards edale car park .
