Electric hardstanding touring pitch
Liked: Friendly site with huge amount of space. Lovely friendly cricket ground next door - bar open Fri and Sat evening and during matches. Shop sells great burgers to enjoy on your barbecue!
Disliked: Nothing to dislike about the site. Be aware that the village pub is more of a restaurant and only open for limited hours (although the food is great!)

Liked: Ease of booking, warm welcome and friendly staff, passing conversations with staff as they went about their daily work on the site. Lovely flat well kept and tended site. Nice outlook. Quite busy on the touring fields but decent pitch sizes. Clean facilities. Didn’t get chance to try the on-site cafe but looked lovely. We will definitely make a return visit.
Disliked: Nothing to highlight here

Liked: The team at the site were incredibly friendly and helpful. Paul in particular was welcoming and helped answer my many questions. The cafe was perfect and had vegetarian options alongside some fabulous cakes and plenty in the fridge to keep the meat eaters happy. The site was immaculate, well maintained and so peaceful. There was plenty of space at the pitch and I never felt like it was too busy. The shower rooms and toilet facilties were the best we'd experienced and we never had to wait to use them. The water was always hot!! There is a washing machine and tumble dryer on site which take £1 coins. It saved me a mountain of washing on my return!! The site is in a brilliant spot and my son and I had some memorable days out without having to go far. We will without a doubt be back at The Alders again this year ..... my new favourite caravan site and may take advantage of their storage options as I feel it may become a regular trip.
Disliked: Having to pack up and come home!!

Liked: Absolutely nothing
Disliked: The darkness, the basic faxititlys.
Recommend to friends Visit again
From the manager: It is sad that you liked absolutely nothing. We can't do much about the darkness. It happens in the countryside when the sun goes down. As for the faxtitlys (sic) they may be basic but they are kept spotlessly clean for our customers and judging from the 132 other reviews of our site they meet or exceed the expectations of the lovely people who stay with us. This is an extremely disappointing feedback given the manner in which you arrived, the foul language you used from the moment you stepped in the door and the state in which you left the area behind the pod. Given how we went out of our way to help you with your airbed and put you at ease with your fear of the dark your comments are unjust. We know that decent users of this site will judge us on our record.

Electric hardstanding touring pitch
Liked: Very impressive, huge site but still very private, spotless shower blocks, cafe, attentive staff. Other Reviews suggest local pub more an eatery so didn't try. Walked 30 mins to Black horse at Tollerton bused it back, walked 90mins on a country lane to Easingwold bused it back. Would recommend most highly.
Disliked: No match at adjacent ( very pretty) cricket ground. Women hating local nutcase in oversized Wellys ( honest!)
Recommend to friends Visit again
From the manager: Thanks - The Blue Bell serves good food. For a pub atmosphere I would recommend The Aldwark Arms. Our cricket club match programme is online www,alnecc.co.uk so hopefully you can time your next visit for a home fixture. Fortunately the welly wearer has gone.
