Liked: Nice setting amongst the trees. Composting toilets very well organized and clean.
Disliked: Drove some distance off my intended route enticed by reading previous reviews about how lovely and hot the showers were, only to find them stone cold. Very disappointed.

From the manager: Hi Rick, I'm sorry to hear that you had a cold shower. I always check the showers before campers arrive and on Friday they were in hot working order. I also checked after reading your review and they were working still although someone had moved one of the dials to feed more cold water and perhaps this is why it didn't give you hot water. There was a mobile number in the shower to call for such issues and I would have come to check and fix it if had known. Please do come again and I promise you'll get a hot shower!

Liked: A lovely keep-it-simple site in a very rural and scenic spot. Perfectly located for the National Trust properties we wanted to visit and many other things we didn’t have time for, this time around. Very efficiently managed, good hot showers and the compost toilets were absolutely fine. Washing up facilities were good, with plenty of hot water, but we would have appreciated some separately located washbasins for just washing hands, cleaning teeth and so-on. Some really nice touches like fresh eggs available with an honesty box, local walks posted up on walls etc. We saw deer in the early morning and listening to the bird song each morning and evening was a great pleasure. We had a great time and will definitely come again. Many thanks!

Liked: Lovely site, back to basics. Kids had a great time running around in the dell / playing in the trees. Compost toilets clean, nice clean washing up area and good basic showers. Nice to be able to hire a firepit. Will definitely be back soon.

Liked: Loved this site - pitch up where you like. Lots of space overlooking fields. Hot showers and compost toilets are provided plus hot water for washing up. Facilities and site were very clean You can hire fire pits £6 for your stay and buy logs £8 a bag. Fresh eggs can also be purchased. There’s some brilliant walks from the site to do of different lengths and a pub 20 mins away serving great Sunday roasts. This quiet and relaxing site run by super friendly hosts will become our “go to place”
Disliked: Just a few things we noticed may improve the site - lighting up the toilets inside which would prevent a nasty mess we found from a previous camper!! Also some sensor lights around the wash up area would be helpful. Also large groups when camped together need to be reminded quiet time is at 10pm not 12 midnight!
