Liked: The site was lovely

Disliked: We arrived at 2pm I couldn't get a tv signal normally takes 2 minutes went to the reception desk to be told you can't get a free view reception on my TV as it is satellite they sent someone to my motorhome with a satellite box they tried and couldn't get any tv chanels. It works out there is a post outside on the.pitch that you connect the satellite lead to but loch Lomond holiday park doesn't have the lead.when I complained they said they would order one in.but that was no good to us. My wife has vascular dementia and it was her 70th birthday on Friday so we left the site at 4 o'clock and headed home £117 for 3 days on site £80 for fuel we were there 2 hours. A complete waste of money

Liked: Clean, well maintained, great views over the Loch, friendly helpful staff. Pitches level and easy to access

Disliked: Road noise from nearby A83. Would liked to have done some cycling but road so busy with lorries and buses was put off.

Fully-serviced hardstanding touring pitch

Liked: Beautiful location.

Disliked: Very basic facilities, especially considering the higher price for a pitch. The website recommends local restaurants/shops which are out of business. When we arrived we were given a pitch number which was already taken, after that point we were told to just go anywhere that was free. Awful WiFi.

Fully-serviced hardstanding touring pitch

Liked: Amazing location right on the shore of the lake. Very clean facilities and dedicated toilet shower block for the motorhome pitches. Great welcome pack with details of local walks.

Disliked: The rain!! Despite dressing for the weather it really did take the shine away, but we will definitely be coming back to spend more time here.

Liked: Large pitch made available. Late check in and the security team were very accommodating, leaving pitch details on reception board and quick to answer the phone. Very clean facilities. Lovely, clean site with fantastic views.

Disliked: WiFi said it was free and to put in a code but when clicked on it tried to charge so decided not to use.

Local attractions

The loch – and beach – should keep you and the family/dog busy for a day or three after arriving at the park; after that, plenty more activities and attractions are easily had within driving distance. You could, for example, check out the views over Lochgoilhead (about 30 minutes’ drive west and much recommended), or get out onto the local waters with a Loch Lomond cruise or a guided canoe trip among the spectacular scenery of Loch Goil. Cycling, walking and fishing as well as shopping, restaurants and bars at Portavadie Marina 90 minutes' drive south-west; for more food, a famed and closer option in this area is the Loch Fyne Oyster Bar in Cairndow half an hour’s drive west, a place of acclaimed seafood and smashing views. Also at Cairndow, the Fyne Ales brewery is an environmentally-friendly venture set up in old farm buildings at Achadunan, with tours and a shop open to visitors. There's also the Ardkinglas estate, a 13th-century house with over 12,000 acres of hills and landscaped parkland (although do check its opening hours before you set off). Other options are Inveraray Castle, 40 minutes to the west; Inveraray Jail (with ghost hunting available) and Auchindrain Township Museum, just under an hour’s drive west.
