A aimé : The Campsite is in a perfect position for relaxing and unwinding. Beautiful Views and walks all around. The "Potting Shed" cafe/bar is a brilliant social hub that is well stocked with alcohol and cakes. The onsite shop is full of quirky things too. Pizzas made on site to order are fantastic and you can also have afternoon tea, which we haven't tried yet but it looked yummy. They cater for events too and we love this site so much that we are re-doing our wedding vows with 40 lucky friends and family, staying for the whole weekend.

A aimé : Myself and my partner stayed on the adults only grass pitch, which was located right by the river. The whole site was amazing, very quiet and friendly. We were very shocked when we found out that this camping site has got a pub on the site, the pub was very modern and have a lovely beer garden with lots of garden furniture. The owners were always very lovely and would always check on us to make sure everything was okay and that we were happy with our stay. The bathrooms and showers were always very clean with plenty of hot water. The owners have a few rules which they ask their guests to follow as it’s understandable as every place have their own rules, they only ask for all dogs to be on leads and to buy fire wood from them and not go to the woods and collect it yourself, unfortunately some people are very disrespectful and don’t know how to follow two simple rules. And when they were asked to stop they fretted the owners of putting a bad review, don’t listen to the bad reviews and visit Brook house farm campsite as it’s honestly lovely and probably one of the best ones we have ever been to. We will definitely be back soon 😀

A aimé : Nothing

N'a pas aimé: Absolutely horrendous experience! The worst trip any of us have had. I wish I'd of read the reviews before booking. We were verbally abused, with threatening and intimidating behaviour. We booked a lodge, a pod and 3 tent pitches. On arrival I was told the kitchen could not be used as a hub. In other words only 2 people can use the oven and only 2 people can eat the food cooked on it. Because this was not specified on the website we had not brought additional cooking equipment. The owner approached us as we were all sitting outside on the table and chairs and started shouting at us for using it as a hub. Considering they had over £600 off us for a 2 night stay you think they would of let it go but they didnt. I reassured her several times that I had brought my own cleaning products and would leave the kitchen spotless. She was impossible to reason with. So the first evening was ruined and we all were left shocked and uncomfortable. In addition the toilet did not flush the waste away properly and made a constant gurgling sound. The shower was blocked and flooded the floor with brown stuff. And we couldnt turn the oven off because the buttons didnt work. With what had happened in mind, my partner and uncle went to spend a load more money on camping cooking equipment so that we wouldn't be using their oven. After they had gone I was having a coffee with my neice, cousin and the disabled member of family who we had rented the lodge for and we were cooking him breakfast (1 pan of sausages). She barged in unannounced and said we had to leave because we were cooking for more than 2 people. We were in fact just cooking some sausages for the disabled person. Then her husband came in and they started shouting at us saying we had to leave. The owner then went to the cooker and picked the pan up saying the sausages were for more than 2 people. She was screaming and shouting swear words in front of the child and disabled person. Then the husband squared up to the 16 year old intimidating him. We were all utterly horrified. We agreed to leave because we did not want to spend one moment longer there and they refused to give us our money back for the night that we should of been staying but had to leave. We are now fighting to get a refund. We had booked the trip for a 16 birthday and it totally ruined it for us. It was the only campsite that was more or less empty during half term.. now I can see why. If you have children, any vulnerable people, disabled members of family and anyone of any colour, do not stay here! They were incredibly hostile and aggressive hosts.

Réponse du gestionnaire : When a customer arrives and as you give them a key to a lodge that states quite clearly for two adult only and I new there were another 14 guests of the same family arriving.,and you explain it cannot be used as a hub for catering for the other guests who have only paid for camping.Except for three staying in a pod who on arrival I upgraded to a l lodge as it was for the birthday boy to stay in.This review is written by a member of the party who has only paid for a camping pitch. Then to find garden furniture and chairs were moved from the cafe garden to outside the lodge for all of them to sit on,to eat there cooked tea prepared and cooked in the lodge, which I had explained earlier on there arrival in front of my staff. I did make a comment as passing do you mind not using it for everyone please. Next morning ,thinking they would have thought we are breaking the rules here. To find one by one they were going in coming out ,having used the shower and having a cooked breakfast witnessed by my staff. I went across and politely said you are not taking any notice of what I had said yesterday. One of my lady staff came across with me. To this I was confronted and threatened by the 16 year old boy who towered above me. He swore and made hand gestures as if he was going to punch me. His mother was swearing at me and told me to get out of the kitchen, which was a complete mess and was covered in fat ,I was spoiling his birthday and she was going to call the police to remove me .I simply asked her to abide by my rules. There were another 5 in there who had only paid for camping, eating. I went over to the cooker and there was pans full of fried food ,toast enough to feed the whole campsite. After been sworn at,yes I did ask them to leave.First time I have ever done this. I had customers in the garden having their breakfast and they could hear every word. They said they were shocked how I was been spoken to on my own property and threatened by a bad review. Then my husband did come over, all he said was you herd what my wife said.Best if you leave.I told them they would be refunded for there second night.Which we have done through pitch up. This lodge as had the door and windows open and cleaned three times and still smells of fat and burnt smell. They had broken the bed and pulled the shower trap out, everything is in full working order. I cannot believe they have had the cheak to put this review on.And then for young children to be giving me v,s as they were leaving. I work very hard and will go above to make peoples stay a good one and have made very good friends with customers. When you take pride in your work, and want people to enjoy there stay should we be expected to take abuse when people take advantage and brake the rules.

The 100th site we’ve stayed and one of the very best!

A aimé : The garden at entrance and garden outside cafe

N'a pas aimé: No reception upon arrival. No where near enough bathrooms/showers for the amount of people on the campsite. The pods/yurts/lodges don’t have any toilets either so all campers are sharing 2 showers. Facilities were far from clean. The “squeaky clean on site kitchen” as mentioned in the site description is actually just one sink to wash dishes. We noticed a theme with these inaccurate descriptions as we noticed the yurts are a lot closer than in the advertised pictures, they don’t have a permit to fish on the “private stretch of river” just the pond. The “shop” is in the cafe/bar which closed very early both nights of the bank holiday. I appreciate it’s a lot of work for two people but don’t accept that many bookings and advertise a “late bar on bank holidays” if this cannot be catered for - false advertising in my opinion. Only one bin at the very top of the road and at the end of the stay, when putting a small bag of rubbish in the overcrowded bin, the male owner had a go at us for not recycling rather aggressively. Had he spoken to us nicely (at any part of our stay) or had we known it was a requirement at the beginning of our stay, we would have kindly separated our rubbish. However as we were met with such attitude, it left a sour taste in our mouth as we were leaving. So much so we decided we would rather spend our money elsewhere for breakfast. Owners were not very friendly, especially the man and this is echoed by other reviews left on pitch up, google and tripadvisor. We wish we listened to other reviews as they are all rather similar and from looking at the managers/owners responses, they cannot take criticism well despite all suggestions being similar. We would definitely not be returning.

Réponse du gestionnaire : Sorry Brook house wasn’t for you. We do have fishing rights on the river Severn as we own the land. Currently coarse fishing is closed on all rivers and the season starts on the 16th June. The cafe/bar was open late all over the bank holiday. Extra porta loos were on-site for the bank holiday & we are currently in the process of having plans drawn up for additional toilets & showers. With regards to recycling it clearly states on pitch up & on the board with the site rules on that we are a fully recyclable site.

A beautiful campsite, difficult without driving, friendly staff.

Pod prêt-à-camper (animaux interdits, 2 personnes)

A aimé : We didn't get there till around 8.30pm due to the trains and the buses stopping at 5pm on a Saturday. But we called and the wonder came out really fast to give us the key fire pit and wood. The pod was lovely was nice and warm when we walked in the bed was very comfy we both slept very well, there was plates, mugs cutlery, kettle and toaster a table and 2 chairs. There was also 2 small draws next to the bed. We stayed for 2 nights and had a lovely stay, room was clean and the pod was cosy. Staff we saw were all very polite and helpful. I'm sure the owner name was Julie but she was very helpful and even tried to help us get a taxi and when we wasn't Abel to she tried her best to sort a lift out for us. We didn't really use the bar as we went out till late in the evening but the bar is really reasonable prices when we did use it a beer is 4 pound and a single spirit is 4 pound 25. The time we stayed a lot of staff were on holiday so Julie was working so hard so breakfast (we got there late morning) was baps but they were nice and we enjoyed them. We didn't have dinner or lunch there so can not comment. The tea came in a cute little teapot. The pod and bar area are decorated in a beautiful way makes it very cosy and homely. The toilet and showers were clean and had toilet roll where the pods are is also 2 porta loos but again for porta loos were very clean and was happy to use them. There is a fishing pond that lots of people where using. It's has beautiful views and a lovely vibe with lots of children all playing together. It was quiet at night so you can get a good night's sleep. Would highly recommend going into Welch pool lots of little pubs the castle is beautiful and so many deer you can see on the walk the steam train is amazing to takes you to a little village. We didn't walk the hill but there is a hill you could walk with beautiful views close by to the camp site to. As well as a church. One review on here mentions Sam in a negative way but can confirm he was friendly and welcoming he is most definitely not a raging alcoholic who is rude or aggressive. Both owners were more than welcoming, friendly and kind. All staff including the youns staff were all very friendly smily and helping and very hard working. Shop they have there has theost beautiful items but a little expensive for me Julie opend it up with request straight away. Has a beautiful area outside you can sit in the sunshine with a drink. There is also a field next to it with sheep and cows. Overall we had a brilliant time. I don't no if they have WiFi as I didn't use it. Only reason we possibly wouldnt stay again is because it's a little difficult to access without driving. We also like to explore new places and don't often return to the same place once we have explored and done what is near by.

N'a pas aimé: If you do not drive the location is really difficult to get to the postcode also took the taxis we got the time we was there got lots with the postcode as it takes you to a housing estate. Taxi cha he price depending on time and what day it was from Shrewsbury using vezuu were between 21.20-19 pound I would advice prebooking. The location without driving is very difficult to get anywhere. The buses don't run at all on a Sunday and stop running on a sat at 5pm (from Shrewsbury) there is one bus that stops really close the other you can get is a 18 min walk. It was a shame there wasn't a full fry up however there was no veggie sausages left the first morning and it was to late in the morning and the next day they were only Abel to do baps but where very honest about it. Although I wouldn't let it out you off just be prepared if you do not drive it is very difficult to get about specially on a weekend or if you like staying out later into the evening. Of course the public transport is no fault of the camp site just a heads up of like us you do not drive. Pod isn't the same and definitely not the same location as the one shown in the photos on the website. Please see my photo of the location outside the 2 person pod.

A aimé : The pod was cosy and clean. Location was quiet. Shower facilities good.

N'a pas aimé: No reception when we arrived. Facilities weren’t open for our stay. The cafe/bar/farm shop is actually one building and was all closed from 4pm, and even if we had arrived earlier the shop only had cake.

Réponse du gestionnaire : Thank you for your review. Sorry that Brook House wasn’t for you. Not sure what you mean by no reception in the booking confirmation & it states to check in at the potting shed & also contains my phone number. As you arrived after 4pm on a Thursday yes the cafe/bar was closed but it clearly states on pitch up our opening & closing times. The cafe/bar/shop doesn’t only sell cakes we have a breakfast & lunchtime menu with daily specials. Below is taken from pitch up.. The café/bar is open daily on bank holiday weekends and school holidays from 9am until late. On all other dates it is open: Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Sundays from 9am to 4pm; Fridays from 9am until late; and Saturday from 9am to 5pm. It is closed on Mondays.
