Tyddyn Goronwy Camping Park

Mi è piaciuto: Absolutely amazing place to camp, excellent staff and friendly. Beknowing to the staff it was my daughter's 4th birthday and they went above and beyond to put all the family together (5 tents, 20 family members) made my daughter's birthday even more amazing than it was, if I had seen them on my exit I would of thanked them personally. Thank you. I will definitely be coming back. So much to do on and off site. Keep up the great work.

Mi è piaciuto: The toilet block was usually clean and stocked, hot shower every time, didn’t spend time waiting even once. It was cleaned regularly. The park itself was clean and well maintained, not too crowded. The pitches were decent size and rather flat. The employees were very friendly and helpful. The location is great, short stroll from the beach and local chippy. Great views too!

Non mi è piaciuto: The code to the toilets was quite long so it was hard to remember. Some campers were very loud till very late which was very disturbing, would be nice if there was some rules about noise after certain hours.

Mi è piaciuto: This site is well kept and the shower block cleaned on a regular basis. There is always plenty of hot water. The views from the site over the Irish sea are terrific on a sunny day. This is our second year running at this site with a large group of family and friends, some staying in pods and some in tents. We will be back!

Mi è piaciuto: Facilities cleaned at high standard during operating hours. Great views, friendly and helpful staff. Fair pricing for what is provided. The facilities offered by neighbouring camp sites on conjunction with the camp site can be a great alternative to the sea on bad weather days. Beach close by, beautiful walks and amazing nature around every corner.

Non mi è piaciuto: I want to preface this with a few suggestions. The site should have 24/7 reception and security personnel, non-electrical pitches should be reduced to increase pitch size and I feel the site should impose a no-alcohol policy which would work well with what the site seems to be offering. Especially not wanting groups of men or women to book. However, the same problem occurs with groups of families who are doing the same behaviour of a group of rowdy men or women as a group. Out of operating hours the site turned into chaos 5 out of 7 nights. Facilities got ruined 5 out of 7 nights. No fault to the staff but to the actions of drunk adults. Drunk adults not paying attention to their children. Adults drinking all day and night being anti-social from sunrise to early hours of morning. Most non-electric pitches would struggle to fit a Fiat 500 with a tent provided by the specification of pitch size.

Mi è piaciuto: Location good for train station- I would recommend taking a train in to Barmouth and to Fairbourne for the Fairbourne Mini Railway for nice days out. Kids up to 15 (I think it’s 15) are free on the train so good value to save on parking in Barmouth as it gets expensive for the day parking. Barmouth can get very busy too. Our second pitch was good in terms of size and quality of the ground- nice and flat. 10 min walk to beach so good for the beach days. No facilities on the beach but there is an amusement arcade with a shop, fast food, chippy and toilets. You can see the sea from the size if you stand up and are at the pod end of the site. Nice view of mountains but most places in the area have that view too, so not exclusive to this site.

Non mi è piaciuto: Poor arrival/welcome. Shown to an inadequate pitch which was far too small for our tent. Boundaries NOT clear and it appeared that the neighbour tent had taken 3/4 meters our out designated pitch! I would have needed to pitch half out the pitches leaving the tent on the clear way (cars driving past, people etc) which wasn’t exactly safe. The issue also meant my tent was almost touching the neighbour with our ropes! 2 hours after arriving we were given another pitch but this was after several calls and waiting which mean our pitching was delayed and it ruined our evening plans. No communication the next day from management either. Facilities are basic but acceptable but there are not enough for the size of the site. Facilities were not very clean either. There was only one washing up sink which wasn’t under a cover/shelter. Washing up in the rain isn’t fun. There is absolutely zero night management of the site so nobody to monitor noise. 2 nights there were noise including one group playing extremely loud music until 1am. Nobody answering out of hours phone. This is absolutely unacceptable for a family site. You are able to use the pool and facilities at 2 other sites but we could only make one booking. We actually turned up for a booking but it was closed! Overall this site is extremely overpriced for the facilities. We paid £140 for 4 nights.
