Hassle-free family holidays – sorted. The setup at Lincolnshire’s Golden Anchor Caravan Park means that both practicalities and entertainments are provided, allowing you to get stuck into the important task of relaxing straight away. Stays here are in well-equipped static caravans, each of which has a kitchen area (with cooking kit provided), a private shower room and a lounge with TV. That means most of what you’ll need is already in place – and you can cut down further on the amount of stuff you need to bring by hiring bed linen too if you like. This location between Chapel St Leonards and Ingoldmells (and about a mile from each) is a particularly handy spot if you’d like to get out and about without too much driving. As well as having access to a long stretch of sandy beach (just down the path, with no roads to cross), it’s also within easy walking distance of all sorts of pubs, shops and places to eat. If you don’t mind getting in the car for a while, it’s only a short drive to the attractions of Skegness and the open spaces of the Lincolnshire Wolds. More attractions and activities? Thrown into the price of a stay here are entertainment passes that give guests access to Golden Anchor’s sister park, 10 minutes’ walk away. These entitle you to unlimited use of the indoor waterpark (with kids’ splash zone and waterslides), plus access to the crazy golf, play areas, amusement arcades and places to eat and drink – including the 2,000-seater cabaret bar.

Ik was blij met: Such great value for money, evening entertainment fun to watch but on a little late for the babies we had with us. Caravan was very clean and kitchen came with the basic things needed.

Ik was niet zo blij met: Had to check in an hour late but wasn't too much of an issue for us

Ik was blij met: Site is very clean and well maintained. Staff were all welcoming and helpful. Our caravan was very well equipped,spotlessly clean with comfy beds. Beach was so close and there is easy access to shops and arcades. If you do not want to use your car the open-top bus stops near to site entrance and is a cheap way to see the local area and skegness itself

Ik was blij met: The location was near the beach and some bars and restaurants.Access to the Golden Palm resort pool was a bonus. Near to Ingoldmels and other amenities.Caravan was clean. The lady at reception was absolutely lovely and so helpful.

Ik was niet zo blij met: If I’m being picky, numbers on the wrong side of the caravan so can’t see it from the road. No bin in the kitchen we used a bucket with a bin bag in. But we had a lovely stay.

Ik was blij met: We had a lovely stay, the caravan was very clean & well maintained, in a good position on the site & a close walk to the beach too. The kids loved the park & going to see the lake. Enjoyed seeing the ducks walking around the caravan every morning

Ik was blij met: The caravan was clean and laid out lovely when we arrived. The kitchen was fully equipped with all we needed. It was very spacious and as a family of four, we had plenty of room. The swimming pool and club passes we a bonus it was only a short drive or 15-minute walk. For the swimming pool, you can book up 48 in advance so we went 2 of our four days but could have booked more! The beach was a very short walk from our caravan and there was a little play park in the middle of the park. We will definitely return!

Ik was niet zo blij met: Pitchup stated a 3 o’clock check-in when it was 4. We had to wait longer to check-in. You have to pay to use the Wi-Fi.

Ik was blij met: Beach was beautiful and very close. Caravan was clean. A few arcades and places to eat and shops in walking distance

Ik was niet zo blij met: If you want to go swimming or have any evening entertainment it is a very long walk for little ones. Plus you have to give the swimming pool 2 days notice so if you have a short holiday you can only use one or two days

Nearby Skegness (15 minutes’ drive) is often first stop for visitors here – and with good reason, because this lively resort town is packed with beach activities and has several other attractions including a seal sanctuary and a golf course. Ingoldmells is another option nearby – it’s particularly popular with thrillseekers because it’s home to Fantasy Island theme park (10 minutes) If you’re after a quieter seaside experience, choose a birdwatching spot at the North Sea Observatory, Chapel Point (five minutes) or head for the wide sands of Sutton on Sea (20 minutes). Inland, there are some lovely walks to be done around the peaceful trails of the Lincolnshire Wolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (15 minutes), or the grounds of National Trust estate Gunby Hall (20 minutes). Keeping the kids entertained? Try the friendly animals, tractor rides and play areas at Hardy’s Animal Farm (five minutes), a step back in time at The Village Church Farm open-air museum (15 minutes) or meeting the residents of the Mablethorpe Seal Sanctuary & Wildlife Centre (half an hour).
