Pre-pitched at Vine Cross is a small family-run site, welcoming campers to enjoy a 'no news, only views' digital detox in a countryside setting. Off-ground barbecues and firepits can be used (no campfires please): you can hire either on site or bring your own. Located off the beaten track by an arable farming land, the campsite caters for families and small, quiet groups looking for a back-to-basics holiday with optional extra comforts. The on-site mini concierge service allows guests to prebook chocolate boxes, wine cases and barbecue meat to be delivered to your pitch so that you only need to show up and enjoy the holiday. Being a rural site, the facilities are basic and only include eco-friendly toilets, so please, remember to take a portable shower with you. The campsite is near a walking route leading to several local pubs and has easy access to the Cuckoo Trail.

The campsite has easy access to many open countryside walks, as well as the popular Cuckoo Trail, a 14-mile hiking and cycling path which runs from Hampden Park to Heathfield. You can have a day out with the children at Knockhatch Adventure Park or at Drusillas Park, where you can see lots of animals and enjoy many rides. Another option could be Wilderness Woods, a working woodland park where children and adults can explore the trails or take part in the organised events and activities. At Ashdown Forest Llama Park you can get face to face with llamas, alpacas and reindeer. Pooh Corner and the specialised shop is another must see for children and Winnie-the-Pooh enthusiasts. You can find out more about the local heritage by visiting Michelham Priory, a family-friendly museum in a thirteenth-century building; Battle Abbey, an old Benedictine abbey built on what is believed to be the scene of the Battle of Hasting; or Bodiam Castle, a fourteenth century National Trust building. The local area offers attractions for all ages and interests, including golf courses, cycling routes, nearby beaches farm shops and local pubs where to relax after a long day spent exploring.
