If Loch Lomond is in your near future, no need to look any further for a relaxing, dog-friendly site on its southern shores. Under a mile from the loch’s shores and 10 minutes’ drive away from Balloch, the well-presented Lagganbeg Caravan Park prides itself on its peaceful vibes and top location in the Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park. Birdwatchers, gather. The site is a short 15 minutes’ walk away from RSPB Scotland Loch Lomond, where you might spot an osprey or white-tailed sea eagle over the water. Hikers, arm yourself with a trusty pair of walking shoes too. The site is around five minutes’ drive away from the 134-mile John Muir Way from Helensburgh to Dunbar. You’ll have your pick of a host of hiking and cycling trails suitable for all abilities in the local area too, including the likes of the West Loch Lomond Cycle Path and the National Cycle Route 7. A lighter 20-minute stroll is all it takes to get to the shore of Scotland's largest freshwater loch. Ogle over the surrounding munros for a while or take a gander at nearby Balloch (10 minutes’ drive) or Drymen (10 minutes), where there are restaurants and shops. Cities like Stirling (40 minutes) and Glasgow (50 minutes) are only a day trip away, as is Argyll and Bute. Plus, there are handy bus and train services from Balloch and Stirling. Lagganbeg Caravan Park is a family-run site, so it’s been very lovingly tended to facilities-wise. The toilet and shower block has rainfall showers and a family wet room, which is accessible for disabled guests. There’s also a laundry room with large-capacity washers, dryers and irons, all coin-operated, and hand-washing sinks and an indoor drying area.

  • De receptie is onbemand na 19:00. Verwacht je na dit tijdstip aan te komen, breng het park dan hiervan op de hoogte, zodat het team je informatie kan geven over jouw accommodatie.
  • Minstens één lid van het gezelschap dient 21 of ouder te zijn.
  • Voor het gebruik van de elektrische aansluitingen is een kabel van minstens 8 meter nodig.
  • Minimumafstand van 6 meter tussen de staplaatsen.
  • Dit is een rustige plek: muziek is strikt verboden.
  • Het wordt gasten geadviseerd om een zaklantaarn van goede kwaliteit mee te nemen, omdat delen van het terrein onverlicht zijn.
  • Er is geen open vuur toegestaan in de gehuurde accommodaties.
  • Indien de receptie bij aankomst gesloten is: neem contact op met het nummer dat in de reserveringsbevestiging vermeld staat.

Ik was blij met: Super surprised at how great the facilities were. The shower & toilet block were so modern and clean, with rain shower heads! And the dishes cleaning facilities were also good. We didn't need to use the laundry but it was really good to know it was there. Our pitch was well spaced and they're a nice distance from the other caravans. Staff were really friendly and welcoming. Rubbish facilities were clean, well located. We had a great stay.

Ik was blij met: The tent pitching field was very well maintained and there were plenty of electric hook ups. It was close to the toilet block and washing up block as well as reception which houses a small shop. The staff were lovely and very informative. The toilets were very clean and always stocked. WiFi was good, even at the bottom of the field.

Ik was niet zo blij met: It was a further walk to the beach than I expected and not much beach there either, but still a nice walk to the National Park Area. I stayed as it is a close by site to where I live as I was practicing with a new tent so I wouldn't stay again for that reason, but I think it's more of a short stay site or a base camp as there isn't a lot to do in close proximity.

We do however advertise a quiet relaxing tranquil spot for those wanting a more peaceful getaway. Marking us down because you are from the area is quite unfair as you should have known what the area is like before booking.

Ik was blij met: The location was really good, just a short walk down to Loch Lomond. The pitches are spacious and well set out. The shower block was warm and the showers worked well. Maybe put a couple of the mirrors higher up for us tall ladies ! Great facilities overall.

Tall Pines staanplaats voor camper op grind , met elektriciteit

Ik was blij met: Great location and facilities on site. The check in process was straightforward and friendly. All of the facilities were is the same area near reception, hot showers, toilets, dishwashing, toilet disposal, water fill up and grey water. The shop in reception had what we needed plus we called at a Co-op just before we arrived which had plenty of parking and easy enough to navigate with a motorhome, because it was quite quiet. The walk to loch Lomond was under 10 minutes away from the site and it was absolutely stunning. It dog friendly, which is definitely what we needed. The walks were beautiful and peaceful.

Ik was blij met: Very quiet site. Nicely laid out (we were in the ‘Conic View’ section. Easy access to facilities which were clean. One of the few sites with proper grey water disposal facilities for MoHo’s - if only other sites had this proper facility. Plots were reasonably spacious. Reception staff were pleasant and helpful. Easy walk into nature reserve and loch.

Lokale bezienswaardigheden

This is a central base indeed… set your sights on historic Stirling (40 minutes’ drive), a city with historic credentials like a castle, The National Wallace Monument and The Battle of Bannockburn Visitor Centre (45 minutes). The latter is based on a medieval battle location, which some of you might recognise from the film Braveheart. Of course, Glasgow (50 minutes) has more historic attractions, especially museums and impressive architecture. There are shops and theatres for those seeking a simpler kind of entertainment. Those who haven’t already tasted enough whisky in the city bars can pay a visit to the Glengoyne Distillery (20 minutes), which runs tours and tastings (including of their tasty single malt whisky). Perhaps you’re an animal fan too. There are 300-plus creatures at the Blair Drummond Safari Park (35 minutes), including giraffes and lions, and hands-on activities with the farm animals at Briarlands Farm (35 minutes).
