Jenny and Darren have won awards for their efforts at Tan Y Bryn Glamping – and it’s not tricky to see why. Everything at this modern and well-equipped north Wales park has been well thought out, and the owners are always on hand for a friendly welcome and a bit of local advice. The facilities here vary depending on the accommodation you end up going for, but all guests have access to nicely designed essentials including well-maintained showers, toilets, a communal fridge and a washing-up area. There’s also a wifi service for guests around the reception area. It’s not all about the facilities here, however – the setting is rather fabulous too. The park has views over the gorgeous North Wales coastline towards Llandudno's Great Orme, and it makes a handsome base for all sorts of holidaymakers, from couples looking for romantic coastal retreats to friends seeking a central base for some of the best North Wales attractions. Dogs are welcome too, and all the walking options around the area are bound to get tails wagging. The northern reaches of Snowdonia National Park can be reached with a drive of 15 minutes or so, putting lots of hikes and other outdoor activities within easy reach. For other days out and amenities, it’s a 10-minute drive to the pretty Victorian resort of Llandudno (and the railway station at Llandudno Junction) or to the mighty medieval castle in Conwy.

Likte: Extremely clean and tidy facilities with all of the extra touches you would expect from a ‘glamping’ site. Looking across at the pods with hot tubs it would be worth saying they looked exceptional. Great view from the hilltop site across the bay. In all, well worth a visit!

Likte: Friendly staff Nice toilet for pitches and the shower was good but had to use the disabled one Possible to walk to the coast from site Nice to know microwave for future Pods looked nice from what I saw

Likte ikke: Not that much about There was a pub but a bit of a walk in the dark, and was uphill on way back Road very noisy and was all hours which surprised based on location Also a local dog was barking a lot which ruined the location Think price is a little high for campers and should be 10 less per day

Fra bestyreren: Thanks for your comments, it was great to meet you on site. We do try to provide the highest of standards for all our customers offering excellent facilities. We generally provide an accessible shower room, ladies shower and toilet and separate toilet. Microwave and fridge with washing up facilities. The local pub is a good walk , but yes torch would be needed if walking in the dark through country lanes. I am not sure who's dog was barking, hopefully this did not disturb your holiday too much. Generally the roads are very quiet and accessible. Best wishes Jenny & the team

Turn left at the mini roundabout towards Mochdre and go straight on for about three miles. Then, after the shops, turn right into Station Road. Turn right again at the junction, following this road until you reach a Y-junction. Turn left, following the road for around a mile; you’ll pass a campsite which is also called Tan y Bryn, but there is a sign on the fence which indicates how to reach the correct site. Tan y Bryn Glamping is on the right-hand side.

Lokale attraksjoner

North Wales is a fantastic part of the world to visit if you’re in the mood for outdoor activities. Snowdonia National Park (15 minutes’ drive) has all sorts of options for hiking and biking, from easy routes to proper uphill challenges. It’s also home to lots of adrenaline activities including subterranean challenges at Go Below Underground Adventures (30 minutes) and the chance to fly through the air on speedy ziplines at Zip World Penrhyn Quarry (35 minutes). Things tend to be a little more leisurely up at the coast (although you can still take a good walk on the coast path if you need to get your pulse going a bit). Llandudno (10 minutes) is well known for its classic pier and the chance to ride a cable car or tram up the Great Orme, while Conwy’s the place to go if you’d like to explore one of the best preserved medieval castles in the country. Tan y Bryn’s location handily close to the A55 also means you can set your sights a little further afield if you wish – the likes of Anglesey, Caernarfon, Rhyl and St Asaph are all within a 45-minute drive.
