Gostou: Camping in a wild flower meadow was like a dream come true. Friendly and helpful owners and ponies, hens and a cockerel for company. Walks from the site or within a 15-minute drive you can be at Ennerdale Water for more options. Great sunsets, fire pits allowed and a perfect escape.

Não gostou: A few midges around if there's no breeze, so I'd recommend bringing some repellent if possible.

Gostou: I picked this campsite as I wanted to get some Wainwrights in before the weather changed. There is plenty of space to pitch, the portaloo was clean and the view on both sides is lovely. The owners were nice and very accommodating, I would definitely look to stay here again.

Gostou: My favourite place. Perfect for kids and adults. Waking up to ponies in the field is just too adorable. The lady was so nice and helpful. Will definitely return as it’s 25 minutes either way to beaches and walking. Lovely 30 minute walk to a fantastic pub with great food. Absolutely recommend. The toilet although unisex was absolutely spotless and there is a water tap and breeze blocks for fires

Gostou: It’s a really peaceful spot with a great view of the sunset. The car is very close as you use the owners yard. It’s a very small site. I’d estimate there is only room for three or four single man tents. But then the owner was out so after a quick phone call I made camp and may not have appreciated everything available. I had a perfect quiet sun set and made a nice dinner. I felt bad as the other tent had a family with a young child and I thought I was cramping their style as a single male hiker. They came back later so I put headphones in and went to sleep and then broke camp before 7 so they wouldn’t be too disturbed. I’m not counting that as a dislike as it’s my sensitivity, having pitched after they had and they were already out somewhere. The portaloo was very good and close. The owners sounded nice and though we never met I heard them trying to get the pony’s into the fold and they were making an effort to be very quiet. The price was very reasonable and I was able to book it last minute through the app.

Do gerente: We are glad you enjoyed your stay and thank you for the review. Sorry we missed you on arrival as we could have explained that you can pitch anywhere in the field. It is over 2 acre site and plenty of flat sections to pitch. It could easily fit in over 30 tents but we limit numbers to keep it quiet and peaceful for you to enjoy those sunsets.

Gostou: Almost empty so very convenient. Friendly welcome.

Não gostou: Water supply was off although water was still offered from the house. With no shower facility and no water on hand this resembled wild camping.
