  • Local tranquilo e familiar com muito espaço
  • Ótima atmosfera para camping com lotes bem planejados
  • Perto da vila de St Mabyn e Port Isaac's Bay
Where has a fifteenth-century church, less than 600 residents, a pub (huzzah!), a tug o’war team, and is surrounded by enough farmland for Old Macdonald’s livestock and then some? Try the little village of St Mabyn in north Cornwall. Oh, it’s got a cracking holiday park which offers some of the best pitches around too. Sandwiched between Wadebridge and Bodmin Moor, St Mabyn Holiday Park is a quiet family-friendly (and family-run) gem with so many home comforts we think you’ll be tempted into increasing that local residents total. Space is just one of the many things St Mabyn Holiday Park does brilliantly. If you love the camping atmosphere but would rather you didn’t hear the sounds of a snoring neighbour, then book in at St Mabyn’s, where the well-laid out and clearly marked pitches will ensure you have a relaxing night’s sleep every night. When you’re not relaxing in your oodles of space, mosey around to enjoy the park’s award-winning amenities. The luxury shower and loo blocks are exceptional (hot, clean and close to the pitches - perfect!), and extra finishing touches make the facilities here a real winner. Surfers will rave about the wetsuit wash and drying facilities in the laundry room - gone are the days of pulling on a cold, damp suit before hitting the waves. Sea or swimming pool? Decisions are tough on holiday. St Mabyn’s location means you’ll be spoilt for choice, with beaches, Port Isaac’s Bay (setting for the ITV show, Doc Martin) among many more, less than a 20-minute drive away, and a heated outdoor pool available on site. Wifi is available on site for those who can’t tear themselves away from a smartphone, the large dog-walking area will mean your pup can go exploring, the fenced adventure play area will keep little ones busy, and the games room will occupy ‘big’ kids. The excellent on-site campers’ kitchen, complete with microwave and fridge/freezer, allows you to cook with ease. That’s if you haven’t treated yourselves to a portion of fish and chips from the van that visits the site every Wednesday and Sunday evening. You can even get a baked-to-order pasty or sausage roll for supper from the on-site store and bakery, or to really put a spring in your step the next day, request some fresh breakfast bread and croissants. All this foodie talk making you thirsty? There are three great pubs close by, one of which has been hailed by the Good Pub Guide, and we’re told the local cider is a treat that must be sampled.

Informações de rota

We are approximately 4 miles from Wadebridge and 6.5 miles from Bodmin. Satnav users, please be careful when relying on your device to direct you to St Mabyn Holiday Park from the A30. Some systems will attempt to bring their owners down a very small road, over Helland Bridge which is on a bend, very narrow and has a weight limit! The satnav may also try to bring you through Blisland which is also not recommended! We recommend keeping to the main roads and use one of the following ways to reach us: From Bodmin take the A389 to Wadebridge. After approximately 1.5 miles turn right to Camelford on B3266. Drive for about 5 miles and take the second turning to St Mabyn village. St Mabyn Holiday Park is 400m on the right. From Wadebridge take the A389 to Bodmin. After about 2 miles turn left to Camelford on B3266. After 5 miles take the second turning to St Mabyn village. St Mabyn Holiday Park is 400m on the right.

Atrações locais

The small and friendly village of St Mabyn is less than a mile from the campsite and surrounded by acres of farmland. With plenty of history (the town’s archives date back to the 1600s), traditional buildings, handy shops and a cosy pub, it’s well worth a stroll into from the holiday park. Travel slightly further and you’ll arrive at busier towns; Bodmin is a 15-minute drive south, while Wadebridge and Padstow are 10 and 30 minutes (respectively) in the car to your east. Port Isaac, is also less than 20 minutes away. Say Cornwall and you don’t think ‘camel’, but there’s a treasure trove of a trail along the River Camel just two and half miles from the campsite, which is great for walking, jogging and cycling. The old railway line is now a great free attraction for getting out and about to explore the best of Cornwall’s coast and countryside. Discover some hidden delights along the route’s 18 miles and look out for otters, bats, dormice and kingfishers on the way. For the more adventurous, why not embark on a couple of days on the track and follow the link between Padstow, Wadebridge and Bodmin? Then it’ll be only right to stop for pasty, pint or picnic at each. If you want to take on a shorter stretch, make your way to the old market town of Camelford. You can hire bikes along the route, stop for refreshments (did somebody say cream scones?) and enjoy taking in the sights in an almost completely traffic-free environment - perfect for families. Head 20 minutes inland from St Mabyn and you’ll reach St Breward where you can hike, twitch or even try pony trekking (sorry no camels here). Young - and older - greenlings will appreciate a daytrip to the Eden Project to top up their environmental awareness in one of the coolest learning environments in the country. For the grown-ups, take a drive just over 10 minutes south of the holiday park for a round of 18 holes at St Kew’s golf club. And a trip to Cornwall wouldn’t be complete without getting a hefty amount of sand between your toes. St Mabyn’s is just a short car journey away from the surf, so grab your boogie board and dive in. Surf, sail, swim and even fish at places like Rock, Polzeath and Daymer, which are all around 20-25 minutes to the west. Bude is about a 40-minute drive north if you want a bigger, busier beach. Pasties, ice cream and other Cornish treats are guaranteed.
