If your destination is Dorset-based, farm yourself out to the friendly folk at St Leonards Farm Caravan & Camping Park, which is a splendid base for exploring Bournemouth, Poole and the New Forest. This is a place that has sparkling clean loos, toasty hot water for showers and washing up, and well marked-out pitches – clearly these farm folk know what campers want. And canine campers are welcome too. If you want to sizzle your own sausages, you can exchange gas cylinders on site and there are two major supermarkets within five minutes’ drive, or two pubs within a mile and a number of nearby restaurants if you’re feeling lazy/thirsty. St Leonards Farm is a sociable but quiet site and has a 'no noise after 11pm' policy – most welcome if you’re getting up at the crack of dawn for some seaside exploring.

Gostou: The staff were very welcoming on arrival. All the facilities were really clean and tidy. The kids enjoyed the indoor play barn. It’s a shame the outdoor play area and dog walk area were waterlogged due to heavy rain. Alternative dog walks nearby were good. The kids enjoyed the walk around the Farm next door looking at all the animals.

Gostou: The site is great, really quiet and woodland like. Wardens are really friendly and helpful. Only one feedback, the showers need new heads. More water goes down the wall than on the person.

Gostou: Lovely friendly helpful site owners. Excellent facilities very clean. Plenty of space and peaceful, really enjoyed my first trip in my new motorhome to St Leonards…only half hour to the sea so I highly recommend this campsite.

Gostou: Size and quality of the pitch, facilities (clean and well maintained), location, staff were super friendly and present, soft play was an amazing added bonus, was great for the kids to walk around the working farm. Like the history of the site on the brochure, also lots of information regarding surrounding area.

Não gostou: Not a dislike but would have been nice to have a family room to shower in with the little one. Also the brochure stated there were laundry facilities but they weren't labeled on the map.

Gostou: Friendly quiet and an absolutely perfect place to stay we only booked one night but would be more than happy to stay longer. We were lucky enough to be there on pizza night and the pizzas were excellent definitely recommend as a place to stay.

Não gostou: Can’t think of a single thing to dislike about our stay.

Gostou: The team were friendly and welcoming. The children were able to enjoy a fantastic Easter hunt with great prizes on arrival. The pitch was tidy and well looked after. Hard standing that didn’t flood. The toilets/shower rooms were perfect for families and always so clean. The play barn was a really unique feature, a great size and kept the children entertained during the wet weather. The food vans were brilliant and made dinner time easy! The location is perfect, we were able to cycle from site and visit key attractions in no more than 20 minutes. Thanks for a fantastic stay!

Gostou: Every thing about the park is excellent toilet/shower block superb cleaned every day, no noise at night from the road, easy 5 minute walk to the nearest bus stop for Poole bus station great bus service too,2 super markets and 2 pubs within walking distance, and last but not least the staff are very friendly and informative will be back again god willing.

Não gostou: Nothing to fault at all from us.

Atrações locais

St Leonards Farm is one of the closest sites to Bournemouth, with sandy beaches only seven miles away. There’s loads to do nearby if you’re feeling full of beans – try watersports such as windsurfing, sailing or surfing at Bournemouth’s artificial reef, or get busy with some go-karting, dry slope skiing, golf, fishing or horse-riding in the scenic surrounding countryside. Feeling a bit tired after all that sporty exertion? Take a picnic to nearby Moors Valley Country Park, which has a golf course, cycling routes and outdoor play area, or have a family day out at a plethora of local attractions including Paultons Park, Marwell Zoo, Beaulieu Motor Museum and Wimborne Minster Model Town. Kids will likely enjoy fossil hunting on the Jurassic Coast, and if they’re disappointed by not finding a T-rex skeleton right there and then, you can take them along to the Dinosaur Museum at Dorchester, then spoil them with a day out at Adventure Wonderland less than three miles from the park. The site is also an ideal stopover point for the Poole or Portsmouth cross-channel ferries.
