The site is located in the beautiful Tregeseal valley, with the stream running through it. We are about a mile from St Just town, a mile from the sea, and about half a mile from the heather covered moorland that is home to many ancient sites including Tregeseal stone circle (The Dancing Stones) and the unmistakable landmark on the skyline that is Carn Kenidjack. Starting with the blank canvas of bare grass fields, we now have glades of young trees, shelter belts, several ponds, fruit trees, veg gardens, bee hives, flower gardens and polytunnels. We hire out house tents, pitched in 2 small meadows next to a stream. Our tents are only available by pre-booking so the number of campers on site is always small. The tents are provided pre-erected and fully equipped with camping kitchens and beds, ready for you to walk in and make yourselves at home. (NB We do not provide towels or bedding, please bring your own!) There entire site is off-grid, there is no mains electricity. Facilities are shared by all camping guests. There is a small wash house containing a composting toilet, a washing-up sink, and a hot shower. There is an additional temporary toilet, and there is drinking water (tap) at the wash house approximately 75 yards from the camping areas.

Lokala sevärdheter

Little Leat is close to the Mining Heritage coast; further down the valley are several restored sites, and the coast path heading north takes you into dramatic Poldark country at Botallack (five minutes’ drive), and then through the Geevor Tin Mine (10 minutes) where the underground experience should give you a good taste of how it all worked. Turning inland, there are lots of ancient sites to seek out – Tregeseal stone circle and Chun Castle are both easily accessed on foot (in about 10 minutes and 40 minutes respectively), while the likes of Lanyon Quoit and Mên-an-Tol are a little drive away (15 minutes and 20 minutes). Back at the coastline you probably can’t avoid the temptation of getting down to the very edge of the country at Land’s End Visitor Attraction (15 minutes’ drive); a similar drive gets you to the gorgeous Sennen Cove for surfing days (with lessons and board hire throughout the summer). Can’t get enough of that coast? The South West Coast Path is close by, with lots of little coves to explore at low tide.
