When it comes to stays in the Peak District national Park, sometimes all you need is a simple and peaceful place to lay your head for the night, with basic facilities but very little to distract you from the gorgeous views all around. (Oh, and maybe a pub within walking distance…) If that's the sort of thing you seek, you’ll likely be most happy with your lot at South View Farm Camping. This is wild-ish camping (in that it’s got portable toilets and running water but nowt else on the facilities front), spread over roughly four acres and on a very slight incline. As well as having fabulous views over to Bradwell Edge, there’s a gliding club close by, so you may spot some folk taking to the air. As befits a wild-style site, there's a laidback atmosphere in which you'll be allowed to bring a barbecue or light up a campfire, and dogs are welcome as long as they're kept under control and on a lead. There's a sink on site for topping up your drinking water. And that pub? It’s a mere five-minute walk along a footpath to the village of Little Hucklow and a pint of something local in the garden or by the fire (and a meal too, if you like). For more eating options, the local villages of Bradwell and Tideswell are about five minutes' drive away and have pubs, shops and takeaways. Working up an appetite for your dinner should be straightforward here, as you’ll be pretty much right in the centre of the national park with easy access to all the top hikes, activities and attractions.

喜欢: The portaloo is exceptionally clean, the owners come down and clean it daily. The field has beautiful views and a pub within 3 minutes walking distance with nice food and drinks! We stopped for 2 nights over the weekend and we can't wait to come back! So peaceful and relaxing.

喜欢: Very peaceful campsite with the most picturesque views! Me and my husband loved this site and served as the perfect base to go on a walk not too far from the site. The owner was really friendly and helpful. There’s a village pub 5 mins walk away, we didn’t manage to visit but we’ll be returning for another stay in the future and it’s on our list to try it out.

喜欢: Beautiful location, easy to find and in a great place to explore the Peak District. Clean and tidy area with a nice amount of space for the groups to spread out. Pitches were level enough, the slight slope wasn’t an issue. Host was very friendly, responsive and helpful. The facilities (portaloo & sink w/ drinking water) were clean and worked well. Would highly recommend.

喜欢: Stayed here for one night and could not fault it. Campsite is very basic, however exactly what we needed/wanted for a one night stay. Portaloo, sink and clean drinking water available - all kept clean/tidy at all times. The site was in the most beautiful location with amazing 360 views and only a short walk away from a pub. Not too far from other villages, walks and hikes which made it the perfect location for us. Jade, the manager, was very welcoming and attentive and made sure everything was ok with our stay and checked if there was anything we needed. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely come back, thank you very much.
