Rural roams are firmly on the agenda at Hanworth Country Park, a serene site dotted with pretty paths and six lakes around 15 minutes’ drive from Lincoln. And angling’s on the cards too – four of the bodies of water here, stocked with mirror carp, common carp, chub, barbel, ide, perch, roach and tench, are open for fishing. There’s also a café-bar to order takeaway food and drink (with a handful of tables if you fancy eating in). Travelling with the tiddlers? Let them roam free in the play area. Animals are also often seen scampering around the park, especially around the lakes and woodland: think buzzards, red kites, woodpeckers and kestrels, as well as brown hares, squirrels, hedgehogs and deer. Attempt to catch a glimpse of these critters while roving along routes through the country park, either on foot or by bike; a favourite trails is the famed Lincolnshire Spires and Steeples path, which runs through the park and ends up at Lincoln Cathedral. Closer by is the village of Potterhanworth (10 minutes’ walk), a peaceful place with a handful of amenities including a large playing field with a play park, a skateboard park and tennis courts. A pub’s in the centre of the village – handy for evening drinks – and there’s a bus stop plying the Lincoln to Sleaford and Lincoln to Boston routes for explores via public transport. Surrounding villages such as Metheringham, Branston, Heighington and Washingborough are all within five miles and have conveniences like food shops, inn, takeaways, cafés, butchers and post offices.

喜欢: Absolutely amazing touring pitches, we stayed fully serviced, beautifully clean and every where very tidy. Gluten free options on menu and chef was happy to speak to us which is such a relief and checked ingredients of products used. 100% recommend staying :)

喜欢: all of the staff were very helpful and friendly, they answered any questions we had. the pod itself was very clean and kept tidy was perfect for me and my partner. the toilet / shower block was also up to standard everything was clean and was regularly checked upon while we was there. the cafe was very good too , reasonable pricing and worth the money for the quality of food , cakes ect fishing lakes are amazing plenty of different types of fish , lots of different areas you can go fish. lots of area to walk around too , even a little play park area

不喜欢: On-site pub/restaurant stopped serving food at 4pm on the Sunday and BH Monday that we stayed which makes no business sense with a full site booked for the Newfoundland event.
