If you had thoughts on an ideal setting for a hol between England and Wales, Hadley Park might well be it. It's in the Shropshire countryside on the border with Wales, next to the Shropshire Union Canal, and a handsomely scenic walk from Whitchurch, Shropshire's oldest market town. Hadley Park is a family-owned and run site that's set up for adults only. It has a small pond where guests can fish – for free; a big sundeck overlooking the pond, and a fully licensed on-site café serving fresh local produce. You can also have your hair smartened up in the Hadley Park salon or arrange for an art class or private art tuition in the Waterside Art Studio: just enquire when booking using the details in your booking confirmation email. Amenities include a launderette and a washing-up area; there's also a chemical disposal point, and a modern well-kept toilet and shower block with disabled facilities. The park is adults-only and welcomes well-behaved dogs. A service station with fast food and coffee outlet is 400 yards away.

喜欢: Toilet and shower facilities excellent, seating and cabin area by the lake a lovely touch, fenced dog are with dog agility run great for our dog to run around and safely let off steam.

不喜欢: Road noise - but wasn’t the worst and we’d read the reviews before we went so knew what to expect.

喜欢: We had a lovely peaceful stay at hadley park, staff really friendly and helpful. We liked it so much we've booked to stay there again this year

喜欢: Every thing about the place. Toilets were clean and tidy, cafe gave good meals, priced well. Very friendly atmosphere throughout and for me, the fishing was good.

不喜欢: Too far from home for a quick weekend visit. Didn’t have WiFi or at least we couldn’t get any.

喜欢: Great location, staff very helpful and friendly. Lovely walk along the canal to Aldi and Whitchurch. Will definitely be back, toilets and showers clean.

喜欢: Calming and peaceful location bordering between Shropshire in England and Wrexham in Wales. I liked the staff and the cafe which was on site. Toilets and showers always clean.

不喜欢: Road was a bit noisy in the morning if you was pitched closer to the road. I couldn't get much signal but that was actually a good thing so I could connect to nature more.

喜欢: The country side was lovely and the canal walks was nice and that it was adults only the shower block was beautiful and clean

不喜欢: The hard standing pitch was not good it needed more gravel and had big stones on it and needed rolling was not like your picture shows the hole walking area needed gravelling again it said there was WiFi but there was none

喜欢: Great little quiet site , excellent shower & toilet block faculties. Very clean and warm even My wife used them a lot instead of the caravan . Right next to the canal with plenty of walks . Little on-site Fishing lake but the elusive CARP evaded me. The cafe on site which isn't officially affiliated to the site was excellent with some great food . Some of the best Full English breakfast have had in a long time.

不喜欢: The access road full of potholes , needs addressing especially if your pulling caravans across it. Some water retention on some pitches not soaking away . Again all these are fixable. No wifi most people expect wifi now these days , even if it was an optional price . Didn't have that option

Staying close to home from Hadley Park, the old Shropshire town of Whitchurch is less than a mile away, and the walks of the Sandstone Trail as well as the hacks of the Bishop Bennet Way are easily accessible via the Shropshire and Union Canal on site. Elsewhere, several famed Shropshire and Cheshire sights are within 20 miles of the park, like Chester Cathedral and the city's Roman ruins and amphitheatre; Chester Zoo and Chester Racecourse; the fab follies of Hawkestone Park, and the llamas, alpacas and 50 acres of greenery of Cholmondeley Castle Gardens. Nearby Shrewsbury is famed for its annual flower show and for its Darwin Trail commemorating the life and work of evolution dude Charles Darwin who was born in the town. More modernly, a good range of plays are held at the new Severn Theatre and several riverside pubs and restaurants are around at which to while the night away. The bars, cafés and independent shops of the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Llangollen are within driving distance: other top town picks are a picnic in Riverside Park, a stroll along Victoria Promenade, and a steam straight ahead on the Llangollen Railway.
