Your fledglings should love this farm site – and those in charge of the flock are very likely to agree. Park Farm Camping near Dereham in Norfolk is simple, affordable and no-frills… but doesn’t skimp on the amenities either: the heated shower and toilet block even has free hairdryers in the ladies for those of you who like to keep barnets shipshape at all times. The site is managed by Julie and Derek, who run the place as a traditional and safe site for small fry and their tribes: it’s in meadows around a working farm, with wildlife all around and farm animals to see in the next field. There’s heaps of space even in the height of summer for all the herd (including the dog) to run around, as well as a wood to explore and a small play area to swing around – with everything secluded away from main roads for chicks to be safely free range. All this, and campfires are allowed too. Other creature comforts at Park Farm include a launderette, free wifi, public phone and a shop to pick up essentials. Off site, a pub, deli, village shop, bakery, post office, grocer and butcher are all in Swanton Morley a couple of minutes’ drive away.

喜欢: On arrival there was only one other couple there. Plenty of room for the children to run around. A park for the children to play. Amenities was clean and shower hot. Site manager lovely. Our dog got to go off lead with it being ao quiet. They had a community part with a bbq and outside pizza oven, in the summer I am assuming they do some evenings around this and there were signs up about a swimming pool so again in the summer i believe a pool is put up. Loved this site. So peaceful and quiet.

不喜欢: Reception needs to be a little clearer as on arrival the building we thought was a reception actually wasn't. Thank you for a lovely stay.

喜欢: Quiet and attractive location with plenty of space. Lovely country lanes for cycling. Nearby pub. Very friendly and helpful welcome.

不喜欢: There was only one facilities block with 3 loos and 2 showers in the ladies. This seems a bit on the low side for the number of pitches.

喜欢: Friendly owners - greeted us on arrival and let us to stay a little later on check out day so we could enjoy a big breakfast before our journey ahead. Nice layout making our pitch feel very open and spacious. Clean facilities and useful washing up space.

不喜欢: There wasn’t much by way of facilities (no cafe, no shop, no play park etc), so maybe not one for families, but perfect for couples (like us) or people looking for a quieter night away.

喜欢: The site owner was a lovely, very helpful chap. Check in was a breeze. The site itself is heaven a vast open field for tent campers all pitched around the perimeter, with plenty of space in between pitches. The facilities were always clean, and the hot showers were a delight. It's perfectly placed for discovering everything Norfolk has to offer. There's a wonderful butchers less than a minute from site, together with a fairly priced local shop. The icing on the cake being a dog friendly pub again, by the butchers and shop. All the locals were super friendly. I will be a regular at Park Farm for years to come, I just wished I hadn't been recalled back to work, I could have stayed there for weeks!

Use Park Farm Camping as a base to explore north Norfolk and Norwich, or stay close to home and explore the paths and lanes for walking and pedalling around the Wensum Valley: leaflets and brochures on acres’ worth of visitor attractions are at the Park Farm reception. The River Wensum is on the edge of the farm estate with free fishing for Park Farm Camping guests on the two miles where the river flows through nearby Castle Farm (not available during season from 16 March-16 June), or cast off at the Norfolk coast about half an hour away to try your luck at landing mackerel, bass and cod. You could pick a beach or seaside town to drive to every day of your holiday at Park Farm: seal-spotting boat trips from Morston and Blakeney as well as swishing around somewhat swanky Wells-next-the-Sea and Burnham Market (aka Chelsea-on-Sea) are all within 40 minutes' drive. Within 50, make for the Pleasure Beach (and racecourse) at Great Yarmouth or the crabbing, funfair and zoo at Cromer, both top picks to seaside antics. Other eclectic options within accessible reach of Park Farm Camping include padding around Liz II’s pad at royal Sandringham and other old houses like Holkham Hall: both are around 45 minutes away. Norwich is 25 minutes from the site.
