What a handy camping spot this is… Laleham Camping Club has easy access to the M3 and M25 motorways, it’s close to Heathrow airport and Staines railway station is only about 10 minutes’ drive away for easy jaunts to the capital. On top of all that, there are all sorts of attractions within easy reach, including Thorpe Park, Chessington World of Adventures, Windsor Castle and Legoland Windsor. And if that all sounds a bit exhausting, it’s good to know that the location within London’s protected Green Belt means you’ll have peaceful surroundings for relaxing on site. The River Thames runs alongside, giving you access to the Thames Path for walks and bike rides, or to the water for kayaking, paddleboarding and swims. The nearest major urban centre is Staines, accessible by car, bus or a walk along the riverbank and with a good collection of shops and restaurants, plus a cinema. Closer to home, Laleham village is 10 minutes’ stroll away, and has a convenience store and a choice of three pubs. The folk that run this Surrey site haven’t just relied on their location, though – they’ve made sure the place is a comfortable place to stay, with a good number of facilities including a launderette, free hot showers and handy extras including hairdryers and shaver points. Chillout time is well spent here too – there’s a small play park with sandpit in the centre of the site, and a wet-weather room with Sky TV, a pool table, table tennis and a dartboard. Next door in Laleham Park there’s an outdoor gym, a bigger play park and plenty of space to play games or walk dogs.

喜欢: Perfect little site, friendly, and secure. Loved that the play park was in the centre, meaning we could let our 6yo run wild whilst we relaxed and have her in view at all times (she also loved that she could buy an ice cream each evening at reception at a super reasonable price)

喜欢: We had a fantastic 3night stay. The pitch was generous in size. On arrival the lady was so welcoming and helpful. Toilet and shower facilities were clean and always stocked. Everything we needed and although I was hesitate about the no cars kept on site rule I actually really liked it as it felt very safe with children playing. The carpark is also very close and secure. Great location and a fantastic site.

不喜欢: The only thing I would like to have seen would be some more essentials sold in the cabin rather than just ice cream but this wasn't really an issue as shops are very close by.

喜欢: The location is perfect for Theme parks lovers especially one with Merlin pass. Easily get to London by train from Staines. Lovely and helpful staffs. Perfect for family as the playground is in the middle and you could see it from your pitch. Clean toilet and shower. Although not allow to park by the pitch you can unload your stuff before you park in the carpark. Already booked to go back there again in the summer holiday.

喜欢: Little park on site we were allocated beside car park so easily to get to car. Little tv room and pool table really spacious and ideal for local theme parks.

不喜欢: Bumpy entrance to car park. But nothing serious great facilities

喜欢: We loved the location. The welcome from Angie was lovely - very friendly and helpful. It was quiet. The facilities were clean and well looked after. Apart from the toilets and showers there is everything else you'd need - washroom, plenty of water points and rubbish Disposal. The pitches are a good distance apart. The site just felt well cared for and safe. It's by the Thames and there are some lovely adjacent fields to run your dogs. There is an outdoor gym in the park next door. Pubs in walking distance in either direction.

不喜欢: That we didn't stay longer ! We'll be back though.

In the mood for an adrenaline rush? There are thrills galore at Thorpe Park (10 minutes’ drive), including the UK’s fastest roller coaster, and all manner of shows, rides and animal attractions over at Chessington World of Adventures (half an hour). Completing a trio of excellent days out for the kids is Legoland Windsor (half an hour), which has lots of colourful attractions for youngsters. For a more grown-up day out, you may like to try the likes of Henry VIII’s former home at Hampton Court Palace (20 minutes) or Windsor Castle (25 minutes), which has been home to 40 monarchs. Sporting sorts might also like to look out for events at Ascot Racecourse or Twickenham Stadium (both 25 minutes). You don’t have to go that far for a day out though – you could simply set off for a walk or bike ride along the Thames Path, or sign up for one of the boat tours available nearby. Paddleboards and kayaks can be hired locally as well, for more watery pursuits.
