Have a secluded and hidden away stay at peaceful and rural Ashbourne Woods near South Brent in Devon, in a range of accommodation to suit all outdoor holiday sorts. The site is set on 68 acres of woodland set around a growing forest with accommodation areas carefully laid out by the helpful and friendly owners, and is a mere 10-minute stroll from a cosy and rather fab eleventh-century pub. And as befits a rural and tucked away site such as this, campfires are encouraged here, so bring along the sausages and marshmallows for toasty evenings under the Devon stars… Ashbourne's main camping area has a shared fridge for essentials and a communal fire area, as well as water facilities, toilets, hot showers and a laundry/washing up area with hot and cold water and coin-operated washing and drying machines. Pups are barking up the right tree at Ashbourne Woods too – they’re welcome across the site and accommodation types, and the two and a half miles of dog-walking tracks nearby will make a stay for pooches here anything but ruff.

喜欢: A lovely peaceful woodland site very rural and so quiet,we walked to the local pub(15 mins) and had a fantastic meal. The showers and toilets were very clean and there is a well stocked shop. The hosts are lovely and very friendly

喜欢: Staff friendly and facilities clean and functioning perfectly. Location is perfect and the walk to a fantastic pub also a nice plus!

喜欢: Absolutely loved it there so beautiful all u can hear is the birds. Hosts are super friendly and gave us all the information on arrival. Pub short walk away which was so nice even managed to sit in the sun ☀️

喜欢: Nice woods, clean but basic facilities, the staff were very helpful and accommodating overall good. Nice walks in the woods the dog loved it.

不喜欢: It rained most of the time we were there not the camps fault but it did make it muddy on the pitches.The road to the camp was very narrow being rural very pot holed not good for big vehicles, no passing places but only a short stretch also not the camps fault.

来自经理: Hi Alan Thanks for your review I feel its a little unfair giving us a 6 out of 10, considering the amount of rain we have had this winter, as it is a woodland so it would of been muddy, most of the pot holes have now been dealt with by the council and even my husband had been out there with help to fill them in to make life easier for the customers, I feel the whole country is suffering with pot hole problems at the moment not just us. 喜欢: Beautiful surroundings, with great facilities. Hard standing pitch with electric hookups, small shop on site. Walks locally, great little pub nearby

喜欢: Lovely woodland. Lovely staff. Very helpful. Ladies loos need a bit up dating. Shower excellent. Lots of hot water. Short walk to the pub. Highly recommended for food and beer.

喜欢: Very much nestled within nature and in a secluded location. Good walking routes nearby and a lovely pub within 10 mins walk. Lovely outdoor open grass field for sunny picnics. Drinking water at every tap location.

不喜欢: Limited toilet facilities if busy peak season but, at time of visit they are building to add more.

喜欢: Beautiful position , in the woodland . Helpful check in and information. Site is rustic , with various thoughtfully placed benches, covered areas etc.

不喜欢: Booked gravel area which was very wet and slightly boggy . I assumed when booking gravel area would have been hard standing . However we have had an awful lot of rain

Tucked away needn’t mean being stuck for things to do… Set in the South Hams on the south coast of Devon, the campsite is just off the accessible A38, 10 miles from the sea and less than a mile from Dartmoor National Park. Half an hour’s drive away is Compton Castle, a manor with orchard-filled gardens for apple-y ambling around, while the National Trust’s Church House on Dartmoor is just over a 20-minute drive north. For active types, horse riding and sailing can also be jumped upon around Dartmoor and on the coast. Cast a line to Hatchlands Trout Farm, just ten minutes by car, for fly fishing on the well-stocked rainbow trout lake, or try the coarse fishing also available in the surrounding areas: ask the Ashbourne Woods team to point you and your rod in the right direction. As well as the nearby beaches to treat and tire out, day trips to keep little holidaymakers happy also include Pennywell Farm (less than five minutes away) where animal fans can snuggle the pigs, collect eggs, help feed the lambs and even try their hand at milking the goats; Woodland Family Theme Park for daredevil youngsters (just 30 minutes away), with rides, falconry display and zoo farm, and Staverton Steam Railway, the first choo-choo-choice for little locomotive fans.
