Planning on tackling the North Coast 500 route and need somewhere for an overnight stop? Or maybe you’re seeking a base for scenic walks in the Scottish Highlands? Either way, Inchbae Lodge comes up trumps with a handy location just off the A385 six miles from the village of Garve. This makes a great stopover point for those driving the famed road-trip route, and it’s an equally fine place for an outdoorsy holiday filled with hikes, fishing and birdwatching. Ben Wywis, Rogie Falls and Loch Glascarnoch are close by for your walks, and the site has free access to fishing in the Black Water river for guests. Wildlife watchers should certainly bring binoculars, as ospreys, buzzards and red kites are frequently spotted in this area. That means there should be something for all guests to enjoy nearby – and that goes for dogs too, who are welcome to come and stay with you at this former hunting lodge. The lodge interior has now been developed into a hotel that includes a guest lounge, a restaurant and a bar, so you’ll never have that far to travel if you fancy a meal, a drink or just somewhere to relax in comfort. There’s also a wifi service to help you plan your outings and onward travel.

喜欢: Looked on pitch up late afternoon and came across Inchbae lodge had availability. Within minutes of booking the owner emailed to confirm booking and let us know where to park up. Shower is available on request and toilets are only inside the lodge. We booked in for drinks and food. They have a few Malaysian options to choose from on the menu. The food was incredible and a very reasonable price. Would definitely stay here again

喜欢: Good over night stop. Campsite is being renovated but can see how it’s going be a good site. Easy to book on line. Rapid response to messages.

不喜欢: ATM it’s not finished , so there are piles of gravel etc being waited to lay. But don’t let this spit you off.
