Camping Utah Beach

As aforementioned, this is a land full of history: World War II enthusiasts can visit the D-Day landing beaches including Utah a mere 50 metres away, and the D-Day Experience, the tank museum and the German and American cemeteries are within easy reach of the site. Active options are easily accessed around here too, such as sand yachting on Utah beach or horse riding from the equine centre of Sainte-Mère-Eglise. The Marais du Cotentin et du Bessin Natural Regional Park, a huge wetland area about half an hour's drive away, is a top spot for boating, fishing and wildlife watching among its marshes, moors, dunes and estuaries: drive along to the main visitor centre in Saint-Côme-du-Mont (15 minutes away) to pick up info and ideas. The Camping Utah Beach team also recommends visits to the town of Azeville and the German battery of Crisbecq, both within 20 minutes; Cherbourg harbour and the splendid Cité de la Mer aquarium, around half an hour away, and one of France's most famed sights in Mont Saint-Michel, an hour from the site.
