Base yourself in the Bourgogne wine region with a hol at friendly Lac de Panthier to be right in the spot for sampling local Pinot Noirs, Chablis and Beaujolais – and as a bonus the food isn't half bad around these parts too… Lac de Panthier has a multilingual team and a wide range of modern facilities, including an indoor pool available throughout the season; a large seasonal outdoor pool area with a paddling pool and main pool; a sun terrace; a sauna and a fitness room. Anglers have a lake on site to tackle carp, pike, zander, perch, roach and trout. Regular entertainment (such as sports tournaments, treasure hunts and make-up sessions) is laid on for kids aged five to 12 in high season, and adults can join in during the evenings with karaoke nights, dance nights and bingo. Site owner David is also an enthusiastic chef so that's your taste buds sorted: the menu at the on-site restaurant ranges from fish, steak tartare and mussels to bœuf bourguignon, jambon persillé and pizzas, all accompanied – mais oui – by tasty regional wines.

Lac de Panthier is in the heart of the Burgundy region, known for its valleys, medieval villages and castles, large farms and wide open countryside… and its wine. Options around the site include cycling along the Canal de Bourgogne, visiting the Museum François Pompon in Saulieu and stopping by Fontenay Abbey – with many refreshing pitstops en route, mais oui. Activity-wise, a horse-riding centre, canyoning, balloon rides, karting, a golf course and a skate park are all near the site. But you might also be interested in the tipples and vittles… Many opps are around to investigate both: take your pick from wine tours, cheese factories, or just seeing how many Burgundy restaurants you can munch around on one trip.
