What a lot this lovely little Lot site has going for it… Camping Les Borgnes is in a prime position on the banks of the Dordogne, 10 minutes’ stroll from shops, restaurants and other amenities in Saint-Sozy village centre and just on the edge of the Causses de Quercy Regional Natural Park. All of which adds up to a most handy spot for getting out and about, whether you’re planning to tick off all the big hitters (Rocamadour, Sarlat la Canéda, Gouffre de Padirac…), spend your days hiking or seek out family attractions like Quercyland and Monkey Forest. And it’s even handier if you’ve come along for the canoeing – there’s a canoe place a mere 20 metres away where you can hire vessels to paddle along the mighty Dordogne. And although the location’s a winner, the folk here haven’t relied simply on that. Nope, they’ve also boosted the place with a good stack of facilities, including a heated swimming pool that’s got a paddling pool for the nippers, plenty of sun loungers and a handy bar/snack bar alongside to ensure you don’t have to stray too far for a drink or a bite to eat. Table tennis and pétanque are on the cards if you fancy a bit more activity, and there’s a playground with sandpit and climbing cage for the small sorts. Come along in summer and you can also get stuck into the activities and entertainment that are laid on: daytime sports tournaments give way to aperitif evenings and weekly dance parties with DJ. If it’s a more low-key evening you’ve got in mind, hit the barbecue area to cook up a feast.

不喜欢: Manque de séparation bien distinctes pour les emplacements sinon après on retrouve des voisins en face de notre tente cela nous a obligé de changer de place. 35 enfants autour de nous. Mais cela n est pas de votre faute le manque de respect de certains

Rock on over to Rocamadour (20 minutes’ drive) for a wander around a fab little village that appears to be constructed on the side of a cliff; climb all the way up the ramparts for epic views over the streets and the countryside beyond (not one for the vertigo-sufferer…) While you’re over in that direction, you may also like to challenge yourself to tackling the ziplines at Rocamadour Aventure, or keep feet firmly planted on solid ground with trips to Monkey Forest and Eagle Rock animal parks – all are just outside town. The pretty views continue above ground in the medieval streets of Sarlat-la-Canéda (45 minutes) and below the surface at the Gouffre de Padirac (20 minutes), a stunning subterranean spot with an underground river and a fab array of rock formations. Change of scenery? Head over to Quercyland (15 minutes) for family-friendly days out around the maze, waterpark and rides.
