A site for British sorts – and for other holidaying types seeking pleasant stays in the north of France: Camping Caravanning St Louis is a green and peaceful site in the Nord-Pas-de-Calais, in the municipality of Autingues. At a 25-minute drive from the Channel Tunnel and five minutes' drive from the A6 motorway, your holiday options are huge here – use the site as a stopover on your way south into France or north into Blighty, or stay put to explore these handsome surrounds. If you're sticking around for a bit, you may like to know taht the site is on the edge of the Caps et Marais d'Opale Natural Regional Park for hikes and bike rides around its hills, countryside and marshland; it's also an easy couple of kilometres from Ardres with its lake and waterside leisure complex. This is a mightily well-maintained site, with excellent amenities including a renovated shower and toilet block hailed as spotless by gratified former guests. The friendly and helpful team also help to make this a popular place, as do the well-mown pitches, laidback vibe and room aplenty for smaller guests to run around. Summer is the liveliest time here, with an entertainment programme running in July and August, and a bar and restaurant open in the high season for convenient foodie times – and splendid views. A pétanque court, playground, games room and wifi zone are available at all times. Camping Caravanning St Louis is just over a kilometre or about 15 minutes' walk from Autingues and its shops and petrol station. Bread can be ordered on site from May to mid-September.

喜欢: A mix of touring and permanent pitches on a very pleasant and quiet site located about 20-30 minutes from the port of Calais. Highly recommended the on site bar as its a great place to meet others who have recently arrived or the tanned ones who are off home. Staff here are friendly and very welcoming.

喜欢: The receptionist was great, restaurant had some nice food and good prices, location is good for the ferry / train . The facilities are immaculate with lovely hot water

不喜欢: Outside party in restaurant with band with noise until gone midnight (pitches right outside), pitches were unkept and uneven (this may be due to weather. The chemical disposal point had no tap to wash your cassette out, no water point at Motorhome service point. There is a washing machine there but no dryer.

来自经理: Good morning, Thank you for your review, that help us to improve our service. Chemicals point : that's true there is no tap to wash the cassette inside the room. I had to remove it, because some users were used to use a lot a water to clean up their cassette. The matter is that the content of the cassette fills up an underground tank that i am due to empty when it is full. The chemicals can not be send into my water epuration plant, it would kill all the bactérias. I wish everybody uses ecological products (green) in their cassette so the problem would be solved. There is a free full service area near Calais. There is a water tap at the service area ans others all around the campsite even on the car park at the reception. Sorry you couldn't find them. We are thinking about investing in a drying but not for this season. Yes we had as i think you know a very bad weather, the pitches were very wet, it was hard to find a good time to cut the grass, but now it is solved. About the band, i am sorry you were not proposed a pitch far from the bar. Probably due to the weather as well. We run a campsite and restaurant and sometimes we have music and bands late at the bar. 喜欢: Friendly welcome, very helpful staff. We had an excellent pitch which was hardstanding as requested. Super clean facilities. Good recycling disposal. Brilliant access to Calais tunnel.

喜欢: Friendly welcome. Nice layout for a small site to allow for privacy. Close to nearby town with restaurants. Restaurant on site - didn’t use but looked good and fair prices.

不喜欢: No toilet paper provided. I know this is common in France but I’m nit picking to find any issues really.

The site is on the edge of the Caps et Marais d'Opale Natural Regional Park, a popular local spot for walks and bike rides; more of the same, as well as wildlife watching in scenic surrounds, is at the Canche Bay Nature Reserve to the park's south. The medieval town of Ardres a few minutes' drive away is a must-see in this part of Pas-de-Calais – and a popular destination for holidaymakers on weekend breaks from Britain. Carve out time for the ancient and award-winning Thursday morning market, the bird sanctuary and the garden of the Maison de la Nature at the very least… and make it a mission to find the town bakery and patisserie too. From Ardres, follow the canal (starting from Calais harbour) along to Saint-Omer and the nearby World War II bunker Blockhaus of Éperlecques and its museum, or further along to Lille, an hour and 25 minutes' drive from the site.
