There are three fab facts about Camping Les Myosotis that should have any sensible sort booking a lengthy holiday there with some immediacy. Fact the first: it's set on the shores of stunning Lake Geneva, the crescent-shaped watery expanse that's one of the biggest lakes in Europe. Fact the second: it's a peaceful place here, away from packed tourist resorts and their marauding hordes, so you can venture forth into the surrounding countryside without having to battle for space on the local trails. And fact the third: the views from the site are simply spectacular, overlooking the lake, the Alps and the nearby mountains; one really should book a lengthy holiday here with some immediacy. More factoids to assist your decision? Coming right up… Les Myosotis's Haute-Savoie setting is a simple stroll from its local town of Lugrin, close to loads of walking and hiking trails in the nearby valleys and mountains; it's also a mere 10 minutes' drive from the swish and famed Lake Geneva spa town of Évian-les-Bains (something of a must-see). A lakeside beach, for days of resting between dips and paddles, is less than a kilometre away. The site is well laid out, with many of its roomy pitches overlooking the lake. It has modern facilities including a toilet and shower block (with separate ladies' and gents' areas), a laundry room with washing machine and an ironing board, and a communal fridge. If you need a little light entertainment while on site, a pétanque court is here for your use, and there's ping pong too if you care to test your skills in a particularly serene setting.

This is a properly nifty base for an active or relaxed holiday: take yourself first to the lakeside beach 800 metres away for some swimming, fishing and sailing or knocking a ball expertly about (or not) on the tennis court next to it. More activity is yours for the taking at the splendid town of Évian-les-Bains, where there are watersports and equestrian centres, miniature golf, an 18-hole golf course, and kit to go diving, waterskiing or summer boating on the lake. As it's a spa town, there's a wellness centre too, and you must also of course ensure to take the Évian waters while here. If you're up for paragliding, travel along to the ski resort of Thollon-les-Mémises 10 kilometres away, a stellar gliding area popular with the brave. Back on terra firma, the resort is also a handy starting point for plenty of walks and hikes. You can get to Switzerland easily from here: visit French-speaking Martigny about an hour away for museums and spectacular views, as well as access to trips to Chamonix on the Mont Blanc Express, and from Martigny to Orsières on the St Bernard Express; for scenery seekers, both are much, much recommended.

喜欢: View was great. Pitch was ok. Toilets and shower were basic but clean and completely functional.

不喜欢: Shower rooms were chilly but water was hot. Beware of steep hill to access site.

喜欢: Amazing campsite! We loved everything about it - pitches had beautiful views overlooking the lake, large tent pitches and clean facilities. Only a 20 minute walk to a lovely lake beach and 10 minute drive to the town of Evian. We can’t wait to come back!

喜欢: Everything. Great position overlooking Lage Geneva and the facilities were excellent and clean. Also very good recycling on site. All pitches offer lots of room and the site is well run.

喜欢: The setting and view are amazing. The person in charge of the camp was extremely kind and helpful. The camp is very quiet.

不喜欢: Not much for children to do. Basic facilities although we were not looking for more.
