Well now, this is just fab. All ages could opt to idle all the day long at the lively family site of Fabulous Village in Italy's Lazio region… but do be sure to arrange a few days out and about given the site's fably easy access to Rome. Set over 40 hectares of lush Mediterranean land shaded by aged pine trees, the site's only half an hour's drive from one of the globe's most splendid capital cities. If you're more of a sand fan, you can get to a Roman commune beach at Ostia within 20 minutes. There are speedy arrivals at the site too if you're travelling by air, as Rome's main airport Fiumicino is 15 minutes' drive from here (give them 48 hours' notice and they'll even send someone to pick you up). And back at base? There's loads to aid sunny and restful days at this well-equipped site: facilities include a big outdoor pool, a playground, a beach volleyball court, football pitch, miniature golf, a kids' club and tennis courts; there's a TV should you seek to retreat indoors, and evening entertainment runs in high season if your idea of occupying yourself on hol = someone else doing it, grazie very much. Gas barbecues are allowed and the site has a grocery store, but if your idea of eats on hol also = someone else doing it, grazie very much, the café and restaurant dishes up pizza, traditional Italian eats, ice creams and takeaways. Guests have access to an internet point and free wifi up to 50MB of traffic per day, available in selected parts of the site.

当地景点

This is a smashingly well set site: within 15 minutes of the airport, 20 from the beach and 30 from fabulous Rome. All roads lead to Rome and so they jolly well should… bag as much time as you can here to wander its famed sights, then have a picnic in one of the city's peaceful parks (Rome has one of the biggest areas of green space in Europe). If you're not sure where to start, or lacking in the lingo department, the folks on site can sort you out with bus tours (to Rome and destinations beyond, including Pompeii and Naples), travel tickets and entry tickets for some of the top spots. Drive south via the Via del Mare to reach the nearest beach to Fabulous Village, the sprawling sands of Ostia Lido facing the Tyrrhenian Sea. Ostia was once a hugely strategic harbour city in ancient Roman times: the Ostia Antica archaeological site a couple of kilometres inland (15 minutes' drive) is very much worth a look for its excellently preserved buildings and its mosaics. If ancient sightseeing is a tad too much for little monsters, take them along for a day at the Parco dei Mostri or Park of Monsters (an hour and 15 minutes): here be dragons, and ogres, and other beasties hewn into stone.

喜欢: Large pitches, mostly shady. Fabulous pool complex, reasonably priced bars and restaurants. very clean toilets, showers and good laundry facilities.

不喜欢: Electric points needed very long extension which we didn’t have. Pitch allocation chaotic - got to pitch to find someone on it, returned to reception told to just choose another pitch and let them know - but how would we know if someone had it booked? found it stressful- would prefer to have been given a shortlist that was “held” while we looked.
