Splendid, splendid Sicily – and what an excellent Sicilian site… Campeggio Rais Gerbi is right by the beach, only a few steps from the blue waters of the Tyrrhenian, and in the mountains of the Madonie Regional Natural Park, a nature reserve filled with dozens of ancient Sicilian towns and villages as well as its wildlife. The site is a family-friendly place with modern facilities and a warm Sicilian welcome: the friendly team here will happily help guests arrange hiking and cycling excursions to the regional park, to the Eolian Islands and to the cities of the island such as Palermo, Syracuse and Ragusa. The numerous modern facilities on site include an outdoor saltwater pool, a playground, a mini market and on-site courts for football and tennis. And as it's Sicily, you might be interested in the cuisine – and views – on offer here too… Campeggio Rais Gerbi has a restaurant and pizzeria with a spacious terrace overlooking the sea, where you can sample a variety of dishes. The site is a 500-metre walk from Finale, a small village with shops, a pharmacy, a post office, two banks and a petrol station.

喜欢: Everything about the site is really good. All the staff were very helpful and friendly. The site was lovely and clean with fabulous views. We loved always being within the sound of the waves, we worried that it might keep us awake but we slept like babies. A short walk to Finale where you could find nearly everything that you want during a short stay. It was very quiet while we were there but can imagine that it gets very busy during high season.

Once you've had some beach time, some days exploring the Madonie Regional Natural Park should be in order, to investigate its medieval villages, castles, churches and wide variety of critters such as roe deer, wild boar, wildcats and Bonelli's eagles. The city and tourist resort of Cefalù is 14km away, one of the most popular places to visit in Sicily and noted for its cathedral, many churches, fifteenth and sixteenth century buildings, and the Seminary and Bishops Palace. For a more active vibe, squid fishing, sea fishing, fly fishing, windsurfing and diving are also available nearby.
