You may, just possibly, have heard that Tuscan cuisine is fully flavoursome. And that the Chianti wine is famed worldwide. Whether you're new to the region or a seasoned veteran of Tuscany gastronomy, have a long leisurely evening at the Antico Portale restaurant of Camping La Chiocciola, where traditional Tuscan dishes, bread, olive oil and local wine are dished up daily. The only site in its surrounding valley, La Chiocciola is in Chianti land too, surrounded by famed green hills and scenic vineyards close to the town of Bucine in Tuscany's Arezzo province. It's a peaceful place 250 metres above sea level, and a tiptop base for investigating the rest of Tuscany: Siena is about 40 minutes' drive away and Florence around an hour. There's a pick of three pools for guests' free use, all surrounded by a sun terrace with a good number of sun loungers (also for gratis use). Also free to use are the two tennis courts, the volleyball court, football field and ping pong tables; there's a spacious playground to occupy the kids, and a nicely scenic network of paths runs around the surroundings scenery for ambling or cycling (bike hire is available on site). More Tuscan cuisine? About 50 metres from La Chiocciola's restaurant is a market, where you can pick up local food to attempt your own Tuscan dishes, have an English breakfast (if you're from Blighty and missing your fry-ups), or grab takeaway from the grill room to have around the spacious site grounds.

Famed throughout the world for their splendid scenery and green vineyards, the Tuscan hills are a rightly popular place for hiking, cycling or motorbiking. Chianti vineyards and castles including Ama (also a Chianti producer) and Brolio are within 30 kilometres. Siena, 40 minutes' drive away, is another famed Tuscan destination that should be on your must-see list: its old centre is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the city is famed for its food, art, museums and the fab Palio de Siena horse race, a must-see if you're around in July or August. An hour away is utterly fab Florence, the ancient Italian centre of art and music. This beaut place also has a UNESCO-listed old centre for the quality and range of its buildings; Florence is rightly lauded as one of the most beautiful cities in the world.

喜欢: Belle piscine, tantissimi posti per prendere il sole. Ristorante buono . Campeggio proporzionato tra le casette e piazzole al sole e ombreggiate. Bagni puliti con carta igienica e carta per asciugare le mani. Lavatrici e asciugatrice.

不喜欢: Il mercato poco fornito, manca il sapone in1 dei bagni. Niente animazione o intrattenimento.
