The reservoir's also an interesting spot for its glimpses of the Church of Sant Romà, submerged along with its village and still visible when the water level is low. Travel along the N-141 from the site's local town of Vilanova de Sau to the traditional market of the town of Vic, the capital of the Osana cormaca and set between Barcelona and the Pyrenees. Famed sights include its cathedral and museum with collection of Romanesque and Gothic art, the town markets and the Jesuit college near the Santa Cova. Also a popular stop in the region is the Sant Pere de Casserres Benedictine monastery, a spectacular 11th-century structure that's been a Bien de Interés Cultural landmark since 1931.
