Beaches in one direction, mountains in the other… if you like a bit of variety in your holiday scenery, you should certainly be pleased with the Galicia location of Camping As Nevedas. This family-run campsite is in a rural spot that’s just under four kilometres from the coast and 15 minutes’ drive from Carballo. Naturally, this sort of location means easy access to all manner of outdoor activities, whether you fancy taking your bike out on forest trails, hiking along coast paths, going horse riding (in the woods or on the beach), trying your luck with your fishing rods or donning scuba tanks to go out diving. Prefer to take it easy? There are several gorgeous beaches close by – including the stretches at Razo, Baldaio and Caión. (If you’re not familiar with this area, by the way, don’t let the name ‘Costa da Morte’ put you off – it gained its deathly name from the number of shipwrecks that happened along its rocky length in the past but it’s perfectly welcoming to visitors…) Being so close to the coast, there’s a good supply of seafood in the area – and guests can sample it easily enough at the on-site restaurant, where you’re also welcome to settle in for a cool drink at the bar. Other facilities on site include a swimming pool, a paddling pool, a play area and a games room – along with lots of handy amenities such as a launderette, washing-up area and toilet/shower block. As this is a rural spot well removed from urban areas you can expect some fabulous stargazing on clear nights.

喜欢: Great welcome. Good site and easy for campers to negotiate. Took it steady and we were fine with our 7.5m caravan. Clean facilities nice area. Washing machine includes detergent €4. Entrance to site is on a bend so go slow when approaching. Thank you Herbie & Anita for being so lovely.

喜欢: Where do you start . Fantastic hosts that are happy to share info on local places of interest and Galicia in general. Great food .. the burger and special sauce was fantastic as was the estrella Galicia on draft … clean toilets and showers . Herbie and wife first class . Fantastic WiFi all over site . See you next year

喜欢: Relaxed site run by a friendly couple (who speak English). Good facilities and bar where you can enjoy the view over the estuary. Our pitch was flat and very private but as the site is small we were still close to the facilities and the bar. We were there for a few days in September and drove into A Coruna (great motorhome parking by the aquarium) and out along the 'Coast of Death'.

喜欢: What an amazing site. Couldn’t speak highly enough of the site and the whole family even agreed. Very much a family run site with owners so helpful and friendly. Beautiful swimming pool with flowers bordering the perimeter Absolutely stunning local beach (5 mins drive) Wifi available throughout which the teenagers loved! Beach hunters should be pretty pleased with what they’ll find in these surroundings… The nearest beach is Caión (five minutes’ drive), and it’s a lovely place with fine, soft sand and clear waters for days of sunbathing and swimming. Baldaio, a little further along the coast, is another long sandy stretch that’s suitable for families, while Razo (15 minutes) is the place to go for surfing and surf lessons. If you’d like to get stuck into outdoor activities, maybe stroll next door to the horse riding school or ask on site for advice on the best places for fishing, hiking, cycling or diving. City life and seaside come together in one place over in A Coruña (25 minutes), where you can climb to the top of the Torre de Hércules (the world’s oldest working lighthouse), see marine life at Aquarium Finisterrae and see all sorts of intriguing exhibits at Museo Nacional de Ciencia y Tecnologia – and also find some great places to eat.
