  • Small adults-only motorhome site in rural North Yorkshire
  • A five-minute drive from Ravenscar; Scarborough 15 minutes
  • Just off the Cinder Track, with excellent access to car-free trails
Whitby or Scarborough? Scarborough or Whitby? At Valley View Camping, you can kiss that age-old dilemma goodbye and settle down somewhere with easy access to both of North Yorkshire's most popular seaside resorts. Driving to either is a breeze – Scarborough is 15 minutes away by road, while you can reach Whitby in about 20. But there are rewards for travelling under your own steam too – the site is a few minutes' walk from the Cinder Track, a traffic-free bike and walking trail that connects up Yorkshire's seaside capitals, passing through lots of scenic spots that you might otherwise miss. Valley View Camping's level grounds are small in scale and overlook peaceful open countryside. It's an adults-only setup too, so the place should stay nice and peaceful while you relax outside your motorhome, perhaps settling in for drinks and meals on the picnic tables provided (you're welcome to bring along a barbecue to create those meals if you like). Other facilities on site include showers, toilets and chemical disposal. In need of village amenities? Here you're a five-minute drive from Ravenscar's tea rooms, public toilets and stony beach. The nearest farm shop is three miles to the south in Cloughton Newlands. When you arrive, just park up and pick your pitch (with any awnings to the right, please).

Non-electric hardstanding and grass pitch

Liked: Quiet peaceful site. Only 5 pitches and a pod. Lovely views. Pitches are small so best for smaller motorhomes and campervans Some pitches are slightly sloping so levelers advisable. Toilet were clean and functional, a small stroll from the site. Didn’t use the shower but it looked clean.

Disliked: Nothing Ground was very soft around the pitches but not much the site could do about the amount of rain we’ve had!

Non-electric hardstanding and grass pitch

Liked: Really nice campsite which was adults only so it was very quiet and lovely to sleep there. Small site so only a few vans could park up there with was also beneficial.

Disliked: The bathroom facilities were not right out the camp site which meant when needing to use them in the night having to walk to them in the dark (no lighting)

Non-electric hardstanding and grass pitch

Liked: We had a really Nice and peaceful at valley view, we had a 2 night stay the weather wasn’t good but we could see how beautiful the views would be in the sun, we had some lovely dog walks straight from the site. We walked along the old railway cinder track which was a lovely walk. If you want peace and quiet it’s the perfect site and a short drive in to Scarborough. we never used the shower so can’t comment on that. The waste disposal was next to the shower and the recycle bins so everything was easy to see.

Disliked: Nothing to dislike about the site.

Liked: The site was well laid out with plenty of hard standing and grass space adjoining for awnings etc. There was torrential rain and the hard standing stayed dry! The toilet/shower block was clean and tidy with the addition of an electric kettle and sockets which was handy for charging a phone. Everything was well marked which made it easy when turning up in the poor light at the end of October. It is well situated for Robins Hood Bay, Whitby and Scarborough as well as the moors - all within 20 minute drive. We will definitely be returning.

Non-electric hardstanding and grass pitch

Liked: Lovely small campsite with lovely views good hardstanding pitches , very smart . Basic but sufficient 2 toilets and a shower. Enjoyed having our breakfast while a horse riding lesson was going on in paddock in front of us .

Disliked: Not disliked but just a note to add - would be good for gravel path across gate to toilets and some gravel by Elsan as a bit muddy and slippy xx
