Gostou: Peaceful, stunning views, friendly site owners. Clean basic amenities. A short walk to the local village

Não gostou: Only one gripe. Solar powered lighting in the toiles would be easy to instal and cost nothing to run.

Gostou: I've stayed here lots of times now, and as ever the site remains superb. Quiet, well maintained, exceptionally clean toilets and showers, flat pitches and great price. Normally just me and the dog but thus time round with work mates to do the three peaks. Everyone loved the campsite..

Não gostou: Nothing at all to dislike.

Gostou: Everything, as usual! Made even better by the appearance of the aurora. Fantastic dark skies at the site.

Gostou: Great walking distance from the pubs. The Crown has great pub food. Owners have maintained the facilities well, clean, quiet with lovely scenery.

Não gostou: If staying with children small streams through the site which may be deceiving.

Gostou: Flat campsite with plenty of room. Water taps plentiful. Very clean facilities at all times. Was concerned about trainline- but whilst trains do blow their horns right by the campsite, they also stop running around half 10 and don't start very early. Lovely view of pen y Ghent from the farm, lots of tractors for young ones to spot (we are big tractor fans in this house) and the Ribble Way to walk on straight away. Two routes into Horton by foot- neither take long but one has more sheep.

Gostou: The site was clean and in a great spot for climbing pen y ghent, facilities were good and maintained well, there was enough space that we didn't feel crowded at all and the owners were kind and responded to emails quickly. Excellent value for money.

Gostou: The campsite was relatively quiet as we went at the end of the season. We were able to pitch up right next to the river. The owner was nice when we went to pay for the rest of our pitch. Signs were clearly marked for where you had to go for reception. The toilets were so nice! It was an upgrade for me not having to use a port-a-loo and to actually have a full toilet. The sink to wash dishes was right across from the toilets as well. Water points and bins for rubbish were always nearby as well. You never had to walk far for stuff. I never saw the showers, so I dont know where those were on the campsite (maybe there arent any and I was imaging them haha). Even with some rain, the ground didnt get too soggy or muddy. And there was a clear stone road to get to the toilets so you could walk on that without worry of any slippy grass.

Não gostou: Not a ton to dislike. I think having hikers go past along the trail led for a small lack of privacy sometimes. But we could have also chose to not pitch up right along the river if we had noticed that at first. There is a little walk to the toilets, and if it is pitch black at night you need to make sure you have a torch with you to be able to see. The toilet lights werent working either, so you had to keep your torch on while you went to the loo. Even during the day as well. Not a dislike for me, but some people might find it noisy, but the campsite is also right by a train track. I loved seeing the trains go by every now and then, but some do honk their horns so it might be noisy for some.
