Tyckte om: Location excellent to explore areas nearby, really beautiful and tranquil setting. Camping pod right for four and dog but came with all sorts of extras to make the stay more than comfortable. We rarely visit places twice but this is on the list to do so. Ruth and family really lovely people and made us feel more than welcome even though me tipped up three hours late on the Friday due to late work finish. Great value for money and absolutely recommend to anyone looking for a few nights away. Like I said there were four of us plus small dog and children now 15 and 11 but we all had a great time and hope to return! 😊

Tyckte inte om: The only slight thing if being really really picky was the mattresses but this is being picky as myself and my wife have back issues. For lost this won’t be a problem though.

Tyckte om: Such a beautiful Shepherd's Hut in lovely surrounds. Everything was made up and ready for us, the hut has everything for a very relaxing stay. The location is great, on the first day, we went over the top of the Pennines to Barnard Castle, the scenery is stunning and on the second day we turned the other way and visited the lakes. The pub in Castle Carrock (Duke of Cumberland) is two minutes away and was a great find, very welcoming and the food was lovely. Highly recommend Ruth's place, one of the best places I've booked on Pitch Up!

Tyckte om: We had a lovely weekend here. People were so friendly and helpful. The campsite was so peaceful and the pod was perfect just what we needed. There was a lovely friendly pub about 2 miles away and a lovely country park about 10 minutes away.

Tyckte om: Loved the accomodation. Everything was included. There's a burner and all the pots, pans, glassware and cutlery you will need. There was logs, matches, firelighters and kindling for the log burner. Ullswater was 30 minutes away. We had a great time. Ruth checked in with us to make sure we had everything we needed and the hut was very clean. WiFi was great too.

Tyckte om: We stayed in the Shepherd's Hut which was so cosy and absolutely spot on for everything. Very well thought out space and quirky decor and accessories. It had everything we needed to really chill out. We cooked there, used the outside space with the firepit and played backgammon all night with the wood burner. There's a resident owl which was soothing to hear every night. To be honest I could have stayed a week and not 3 days! Ruth was an excellent host, friendly and helpful and checked in with us now and again to make sure we were alright. Liz also stopped for a blether whilst walking the dog which was great for asking local info. The area itself is beautiful. We visited The Duke of Cumberland pub twice and that was very friendly and welcoming too. We had a great time and will definitely be back. It's a good location bearvto Carlisle for us as a half way point from Scotland to visit friends and family down south. Thanks for such a lovely stay.

Tyckte om: I've just stayed at the site this weekend. What a beautiful place to stay. so quiet and peaceful. Not over crowded at all and close enough to visit other places like Hadrians wall, Lanercost priory and even a hike in the northern lakes. The camping pod was lovely, very clean and everything you need to cook, have a brew and toast. Loved the outdoor seating area too.

Tyckte om: Looked just like the photos! Was such a lovely and enjoyable stay. Clearly a lot of love put into the place. Beautifully set up and decorated. Was a much needed get away. Felt so luxurious! Really appreciated all the small details. The wood burner really heated up! Was so so good. There was a lovely large pond to walk round, felt very whimsical. We came with 2 small dogs, they had a brilliant time. Was space for their beds on the floor but may be quite cramped with larger dogs. Would love to stay again and will be recommending to all.

Tyckte inte om: The bathroom is freezing. Admittedly we came end of winter so cold is expected! But if you leave the bathroom door open agar the whole place becomes freezing! The window in there doesn't keep the cold out whatsoever. Only was an issue as i have the condition Fibromyalgia, when i get chilled i am in a lot of pain so it is something i worry about, had to wrap up warm to use the loo aha. Did not damper the trip whatsoever! But may be worth looking at to see if anything can be done. It was extremely windy when we went so that would have made it worse! The main part of the cabin is very cosy on the other hand and kept the heat so well. Felt so safe in the insane wind!

I'm thrilled your enjoyed your stay here so much and weren't deterred by the infamous Helm wind which fortunately doesn't visit too often! We haven't previously had any comments re the en suite being too cold but will certainly look at what could be done to make it more cosy. The helm wind would certainly have been a considerable contributing factor particularly given the direction of the wind in relation to the position of the bathroom.
